NSGA Pleased With Favorable Supreme Court Ruling on Internet Sales Taxes
 
The U.S Supreme Court on June 21 decided to permit states to require out-of-state Internet sellers to collect and remit sales taxes that are due. NSGA has argued for this decision for more than a decade and is pleased with the outcome that will benefit brick-and-mortar retailers.

RULES NEWS

NCAA Looks at Revamped
Overtime Format
 
The NCAA Men's and Women's Ice Hockey Rules Committee approved a standardized overtime format for regular-season games and in-season tournaments for the 2018-19 season. If a game is tied after regulation time, teams will play 5-on-5 for five minutes to determine a winner. If no goals are scored the game ends in a tie.

A BIG ASSIST

Sidney Crosby Helps Boy
Who Lost Gear in Fire
 
Pittsburgh Penguins star Sidney Crosby notched one of the biggest assists of his career with a 7-year-old boy in early May. The boy's family lost all of his hockey equipment in a home fire, so Crosby invited him to a Penguins practice and gave him a new set of hockey gear.

The collaboration for the purchase of hockey equipment by U.S. hockey dealers between HDA, the National Sporting Goods Association (NSGA) and SDC (Sports Distributors of Canada) continues to grow.

 

Click here to learn more about how the collaboration works and to fill out an inquiry form to start the process. Members of the collaboration take advantage of access to various products and discounts to help their bottom line.

 

There is no obligation to complete the form. Criteria used by SDC to determine participation may include a minimum sales volume of $200,000 in annual wholesale hockey products, credit rating, proximity to existing members and meeting certain store standards.
