2018 Trade Review Top Competitors

All 5th Year Commercial Plumbers, Steamfitters and HVAC/R Mechanics competed in our first "local" competition Trade Review course.  The top competitors will represent SAPT at the UA State Competition, which will be held this May in Burlington, Washington.   

This year's winners are:

Apprenticeship Classes ENDING first week of May 2018

Yes, the rumor is TRUE...due to the renovation, SAPT is cancelling apprenticeship classes after the first week of May... with some exceptions:

  • Classes that are required for turnout will continue
  • 3rd Year Service Commercial Plumbers will have a 4-hour special session with the MCAWW on 5/24/18
  • 4th Year Commercial Plumber Med Gas and Trigonometry will continue as electives
UW Biomarker Stress Study 

SAPT is partnering with the University of Washington - Occupational Safety & Health Department to conduct research on stress indicators for apprentices and journeymen.   We are looking for interested research participants between the ages of 25-45.  You will take a survey, provide a small blood sample, and follow-up with a focus group to review results.  Participants will receive a $50 gift card from UW for their participation.

SAPT does not select the participants.  If you want to be part of this unique study, please email Heather Winfrey, and your name will be given to UW.  They will contact and select 10-15 participants.  

We will arrange an evening meeting with participants and UW on Monday, April 30, 2018 from 4pm to 7pm. 

Interested in serving on the Peer Review Board?  Let us know!

We will begin Peer Review in October, 2018, when the new school year begins.  This is a monthly commitment.  Apprentices will be nominated by peers, and rotate on and off this recommending board.   The first group, however, will self-nominate.
