AmeriCorps NCCC is
a Family Affair

The spirit of AmeriCorps runs deep for one special family. Current AmeriCorps NCCC member Serena was recently joined at an AmeriCorps Week service project by her parents Bobby and Sotha - both AmeriCorps NCCC alumni!  Serena's NCCC team has been serving in  Washington County with Habitat for Humanity. Bobby and Sotha both donned their vintage AmeriCorps hoodies to join their daughter for a home restoration project.   Serena's parents actually met each other as NCCC members on the Maryland campus. Bobby and Sotha are looking forward to attending Serena's NCCC Graduation Ceremony in May in Vicksburg, MS!

Meet Arlington's Senior Corps RSVP Volunteer of the Year Janet Garber

Arlington's RSVP Volunteer of the Year, Janet Garber embarked on a meaningful new journey as a new retiree. She had heard that about RSVP's personalized approach which includes asking volunteers about what their skills interests and passions are and then matching them up with volunteer opportunities. " I jumped on that." she said. Janet adds, "It is so rewarding to help people that are really my peers. I am helping them in areas that perhaps they don't have the skills that I do."
