Seattle Bridge Church Group

A group of 13 members from the Seattle Bridge Church, led by Pastor Steve Han, joined Strong Tower Ministries for Spring Break 2018. After flying all the way from Seattle, the group spent the first day seeing Strong Tower's primary building project, the Siloé Wellness Center, as well as the Door of Faith Orphanage. The group finished the day with fellowship at Casa de Maná, the new permanent site for Strong Tower in La Mision.

Days two and three took us to the Canyon de las Carretas in Tijuana where Dave Hessler, of Life in the Canyon Ministries, and Pastor Albert Rivera, of the Agape Mision Mundial Church, generously hosted us. The main project going in was to demo and then install new drywall in the upstairs floor of the church building. Although this important mission was accomplished, the greater rewards were seen in the building of relationships: from impromptu soccer games to the preparation of meals, and playing hide and seek with the younger kids. The Seattle Bridge Church bonded very quickly with their adopted church family in Tijuana due to their common love for Christ. These two extended families will definitely be spending more time together in the future.

Day four was just as busy. We had the privilege of joining Pastor Alexandre Amos and the 1st Baptist Haitian Church of Tijuana. Yes, you read that correctly. There are between 3,000 to 5,000 Haitians in TJ. (Contact us for information on how you can get involved.) The Seattle Bridge Church and Strong Tower delivered over 120 Bibles, half in Creole and half in French. The church services often include four languages! You gotta check it out. Strong Tower also provided an electric guitar, which is just a start to the musical instruments needed by this very young and under-resourced church plant. We then bid farewell to our brothers and sisters at the airport so they could make the long trek back to Seattle. But with four visits in just over a year, we know you will be back soon and we are excited to see where the Lord takes us.
