Welcome to Mountain Time!
|
Time seems to be a little bit different when you're at Christmount. The stressful tick-tock of the clock is replaced by the dancing shadows of the trees; days are not measured in hours, but in experiences; and no matter the time of year, beauty is always in season.
This. Is. Mountain Time.
"Mountain Time" is also a weekly snapshot of what is happening here at Christmount. We send snippets of info, pictures, and blurbs about events. It's fun, informative, and keeps you connected. Take a deep breath and e
njoy!

Happy International Women's Day!
...by Anne McGuire, Guest Columnist
“Once upon a time, when women were birds, there was the simple understanding that to sing at dawn and to sing at dusk was to heal the world through joy. The birds still remember what we have forgotten, that the world is meant to be celebrated.”

Jon Speaks...
Jon Blalock, Director of Adapted Programs, has been burning up the road recently, speaking all over the place about Camp Lakey Gap and Camp Sunshine to various groups. In the past month or so, Jon has given 2 or 3 presentations at colleges, spoken at a Regional Western NC Camp & Conference Meeting, traveled to Wisconsin to consult and collaborate with a UCC Camp Program, and has also been meeting with Zipping For Autism folks!

Summer Staff Spots
Christmount is looking for Summer Staff! Have you ever run a 4-minute mile? Do you have experience working with wild rabbits in a traveling circus? Have you ever tracked the migratory patterns of penguins at the North Pole?
Well, neither have we, but Christmount is still a great place to work. You will not be required to track penguins, work with wild rabbits, or run a 4-minute mile; but you will be guaranteed to have the most fun allowed this side of the Appalachian Mountains.
Interested? Curiosity piqued? Contact Christmount to apply. Only a few spots left - hurry!

Preacher Jimmy
Preacher Jimmy called this week.
"Hello, is Johnny there? Tell him Preacher Jimmy called and that I want to volunteer for Camp Sunshine again this year."
Preacher Jimmy attends Camp Sunshine every year. Been coming for at least 20 years, I bet. He plays guitar and sings. He encourages everyone. He loves to help.
Preacher Jimmy is not just a volunteer at Camp Sunshine. He's also a camper. He loves Camp Sunshine. And he lives for Camp Sunshine.
When you give to Christmount, you make it possible for Preacher Jimmy to come to camp year after year. And that's pretty awesome.
Thanks, you!
And Preacher Jimmy said ... "AMEN!"
