SACSA Flair Help us promote MMI and NPI! SACSA members now have the ability to showcase their involvement with SACSA and NASPA Region III using downloadable pieces of flair for use on social media! Download your flair here: https://www.sacsa.org/page/SACSAflair.

Career Services: Nichole Lewis has done an exceptional job transitioning into the Career Services role. She is working hard to plan career services initiatives for the annual conference while managing the SACSA job posting site. Did you know? SACSA members can post job openings, find potential candidates, search openings, and subscribe to new posting notifications. Visit the SACSA website for more information. If you have any questions or would like to volunteer to join Gerald's committee, don't hesitate to contact her.

CAS Liaison Ralph Johnson always does an outstanding job representing SACSA on all things CAS standards, and this year is no exception. If you have any CAS-related questions, don't hesitate to reach out to your friendly SACSA CAS liaison.

Research and Assessment: Kudos to Danielle Molina and her research and assessment committee for drafting policy that will assist the association in responding to research-related requests.  More information on the approved policy is listed on the SACSA website.  If you are interested in volunteering for this committee, please contact Danielle.

We look forward to connecting with you soon!

Yours in Service,

Jay, Georj, Danielle, Ralph, Nichole & Janice

Erin Vaughn Jones, Ph.D.SACSA Member since 2007
Erin Vaughn Jones, Ph.D. is the Director of Student Housing and Residence Life, and Deputy Title IX Coordinator at Hinds Community College, Raymond Campus. In this role, she manages the overall housing operations for the students who live in campus.  In addition to this role, she also oversees New Student Orientation.

Dr. Jones has been a SACSA member since 2007, having joined when she was a graduate student at the University of Central Arkansas. In particular, she notes that meeting other women of color at SACSA was fundamental for her sense of community at SACSA.

Her favorite SACSA locations have been Norfolk and Myrtle Beach, citing the fantastic food at both locations! Her favorite SACSA memories include her SACSA colleagues Kyle Williams, Ed.D. and Janice Hicks, Ph.D.; they make it a point to use that time to connect with each other, share best practices, and take the time to catch up on their personal and professional lives. She highlights the opportunity to mentor graduate students and  professionals as a favorite aspect of SACSA membership. She notes SACSA is "small enough to know people, and large enough to get connected!".

Her SACSA story includes many conference presentations, service on the Multicultural Awareness Committee (MAC), spiritual reflection committee ,and SACSA Foundation. She appreciates having been able to make a difference in SACSA through mentorship of graduate students and new professionals. She considers it part of her calling to mentor graduate students through their doctoral journey as well as creating an avenue at community colleges for colleagues interested in working at community colleges.
