Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you;
he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you:
You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”

Luke 2:11-12

From the Head of School
Dear Prince Families:

We are prepared for a strong finish to the first half of the school year. Through our partnership, our students have continued with in-person instruction and the benefits that come from live teacher and student interactions while millions of other K-12 students have stayed at home. Educational pundits are replete with recent scholarly studies that document the academic, emotional, and social advantages students like ours have over their online counterparts.

We have been blessed with only six positive student COVID-19 tests this first half of the year (five of those have been in the more mobile high school population), and I want to thank you for keeping your children at home if they are sick. The second and third-order effects of having sick children in school during this pandemic are wide-reaching, and we have been spared a great deal of the quarantine troubles experienced by other schools because of the decisions you are making at home.

In closing, on behalf of the faculty and staff, thank you for your generous contributions to the PTF's Christmas Cash Fund (it was the largest collection of gifts we have ever received)! After the amount of your gift was announced to the faculty and staff during our devotion last week, it was met with a hearty round of applause! Handwritten thank-you notes are on display near the main entrance. We are humbled and grateful for your generosity.

All right, here we go, the last week of classes before we celebrate the birth of our Savior!

Chaplain's Corner
Dear Parents,

This week was our Christmas chapel service for middle and high school students since it was their last chapel of the semester. It was an incredible time of worship. I am so thankful for the community we have and the way God uses our chapel services to impact our students. We read the account of Christmas from Luke 2 and encouraged our students to not let the familiarity of the Christmas season and the Christmas story cause them to forget the power behind it. The message of the manger is the same as the cross and the empty tomb. What an incredible truth it is that God came to Earth, lived and died for us so that we can have new life, and that it all started on Christmas!

I look forward to sharing with you next week about our lower school Christmas chapel. I hope you are all having a great Christmas season and find time in the middle of the busyness to reflect on the truth of Christmas together!
