Welcome to the last pre-INWED e-News on this, the eve of International Women in Engineering Day 2018,
Firstly, can I say a HUGE thank you to those of you who have organised activity to celebrate #INWED18 and also to those of you who have taken part in person and online via social media to help ra
ise the profile of this international awareness campaign and of women in engineering across the globe.
On Sunday 24 June the Top 50 Women in Engineering (WE50) for 2018 will be announced; this year the focus was on returners and transferrers. We felt that this was fitting with the #INWED18 theme of #RaisingTheBar, as often we look to the young when others have already trodden the path and had to make inroads to gain greater balance in our workforce, demonstrating progression which we want to recognise, challenging unconscious biases.
Once again thank you to those who have held events for #INWED18 and best of luck to those who still have events to come!
