Attention Classes of 2019 and 2020
|
National Honor Society Invitations will be sent out when students return in the fall. You will be invited to apply if your GPA is 3.5 or higher at the end of this school year. If you choose to complete the application, it will be reviewed by a faculty committee. Delone Catholic follows the guidelines outlined in the National Honor Society Constitution and the National Honor Society Handbook. Scholarship, leadership, service and character each count for 25% of the membership decision-no one characteristic is more important than any other. You will have opportunities to describe your leadership and character on the application. Outstanding service will be defined as having completed at least one and a half times the minimum amount of Works of Mercy required for graduation and having participated in some sort of community service, organized outside of school. Be sure to hand in your Works of Mercy forms for any work you have already done, and to turn in summer hours as early as possible.
Contact Mrs. Gadow or Mrs. Hammar if you have any questions.

Newman Connection Program
|
As part of a Catholic high school, it is our hope that graduating students have gained a greater appreciation of and involvement in their faith, which has the potential to grow and strengthen in their college years. The Newman Connection program aims to help seniors transition to college by putting them in touch with the Campus Ministry of the college before they begin their school year. The process is very simple. All they need to do is complete the form at this link and submit it to the Spiritual Life Office. We will then send the information to the Newman Connection supervisors, who will get in touch with the college's Campus Ministry. This program has been proven very helpful in many other dioceses around the country and we look forward to you finding help through it as well!

SportsLeader Virtue of the Week
|
One pillar of the SportsLeader program is a weekly virtue that we incorporate into our athletic practices and throughout our school community. Every week, we will share them here to encourage the students to take the virtue into their homes as well!
Our virtue this week is SELF-CONTROL - th
e strength to direct your emotions and desires for a greater good.
People with self-control are able to do the right thing. You carry yourself differently when you are able to practice the virtue of self-control and that does make a difference on or off the field of play. Grow in self-conTrol this week by refusing to be distracted by technology; phone, TV, computer, video games, etc. and instead stay focused on doing what needs to be done.
