Reflection...
Lives Well Lived
I sat and I watched as all this unfolded
I sat and I watched as it blossomed and faded
the essence of fragrance, the centre of all
my love was made manifest by the unfolding of all.
- David Taylor
Friends,
We are delighted that Donna Stein-Harris and our members will be available to lead the Sunday service that was canceled by last week's snow storm. Please join them this Sunday to explore what it means to lead a life well lived.
On Saturday, April 21 at 1:00 PM we will celebrate a life wonderfully lived in our beloved Sally Mitchell, here at UUCGT. Please join her family to honor Sally. If possible consider carpooling as our parking lot is still filled with snow taking up some spaces.
We look forward to warmly welcoming you this weekend in love, in memory and in inspiration.
Much love -

Sundays in April ~
preK - 8th grade
We're very excited to be continuing our "Environment Horcrux" in April!
We will spend our time engaging in lessons and stories that promote environmental stewardship, as well as considering the ways in which we can get involved in our community in this regard. Some of the wonderful ways we will accomplish this will include working with the Landscape Committee on learning about native plants, invasive species, and planning our own Children's Garden.
Suggested reading for families/parents this month!
In April, we have a lovely poetry collection that coincides with Transcendentalists in Sunday Services with selections from this collection offered in Story Wisdoms.
Poetry for Kids: Walt Whitman, edited by Karen Karbiener, PhD -
A 2018 Notable Poetry Book for Children (National Council of Teachers of English)
Introduce your children to the beautiful words of classic American poet, Walt Whitman. Poetry for Kids: Walt Whitman makes the work engaging and easy to understand...This collection of thirty-five of Walt's best works has been carefully curated for kids. Each piece of work is lovingly illustrated, and are both presented and explained by New York University professor Karen Karbenier, PhD, a primary authority on Whitman's poetry.
Walt Whitman includes enlightening commentary for each poem, definitions of key words, and a foreword by the expert so that kids, or even parents new to poems, will understand. Starting off with "I Hear America Singing," the collection includes excerpts from "Song of Myself," "O Captain! My Captain!", poems from Leaves of Grass, and many more thought provoking, descriptive, and kid-friendly selections". Go to

Information &
Gatherings
Many thanks to Candace Lee, Linda Fletcher, Lynnette Rhodes, Ken and Judy Weaver, Chris Innes, Bernie Hanchett, Rick Walter, Patty Bauer, Phil Hamburg, Sue Kiss, Karl Keinath and Sara Keinath for volunteering at Safe Harbor this past Saturday night and Sunday morning!
Thanks to their efforts, UUCGT was able to provide overnight shelter and food for 54 Safe Harbor guests who would otherwise have had to sleep in the woods on an unbelievably terrible weather night and likely have gone hungry.
To honor the anniversary of the Columbine shooting, we are joining with the students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas in asking that this date be a day of service. We invite you to choose one act in your local community or one donation that is meaningful to you, and do it with the intention of honoring the memory of all those who have died in gun violence.
