Service Leader: Rev. Christine Dance
What’s your name for the universe, God and/or existence? As Unitarian Universalists, we have attachments to some names (Spirit of Life) and baggage with others (O Holy Father) . Why do names matter? We’ll talk about the power of names and the role in our lives and our spirituality.
Also, we will welcome our newest members of the congregation.

Music: We welcome the Handbell Choir from the Valley Unitarian Universalist congregation in Chandler, AZ.

Some interesting facts about our past board presidents.

Taylor Smith was a banker described as an outgoing, friendly, understanding man, and our board president in 1948. He was also chairman of the board of the Friendly House, “a social service organization operated for the benefit of Spanish-speaking people and others of foreign heritage to gain American citizenship.” To be supportive of immigrants was probably not popular during McCarthyism.

Sanctuary Holiday Decorations
The Sanctuary Art Team is looking ahead to the coming Holiday Season and would like to include decorations that are personal to you. Whether you decorate for the holidays with wreaths, menorahs, candle arcs, spider webs or Krampus masks we would like to show it. A future Saturday will be announced to bring your hangable art to the Sanctuary to be displayed for about two months. For questions please email Bill Snowden at surfdream25@gmail.com .
Have you noticed that some members have blue, yellow, or purple ribbons attached to their name tags?  These ribbons, which may say Theological Diversity, Radical Inclusion, or Justice Centered, are areas of personal study available to us in the form of on-demand classes, books, articles, videos, podcasts, social media, and other ways to reflect and discuss each topic. UUCP is in the process of organizing this program for fall 2019. Sign up to get a ribbon and be contacted about classes at a table in the back of the Sanctuary before and after each Sunday Service.
