Each year the League of California Cities ® honors outstanding work in member cities across the state through the League Partner-sponsored Helen Putnam Awards for Excellence. 

Cities have an opportunity when starting SB 1-funded road improvements to make sure that their residents know about the benefits of these investments. Bakersfield’s video can be easily replicated in any community and promoted to the local press and via your city’s social media channels.

The Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) is conducting stakeholder outreach to cities and other interested stakeholders on their implementation efforts on the Responsible Beverage Service Training Act, a community-based approach geared toward reducing risks associated with retail alcohol environments. 

Social media remains a critical tool to keep California cities up to date on the League’s advocacy and educational opportunities.
