The Price Road Bridge was closed to all traffic on
April 2, 2019, as a result of extensive structural damage. The old structure was demolished, and the new bridge was built in the same location.
The Clermont County Transportation Improvement District (CCTID) played a critical role in the management and completion of this project.
In addition to new state revenue sources, the CCTID provided the initial funding that allowed the project schedule to be accelerated.
Under a traditional project delivery model, demolition of the damaged structure and construction of the new bridge would likely not have started until this year, and it would have been the only bridge work done through the Engineer's Office budget for 2020.
The involvement of the CCTID allowed for bridge work to start in 2019, with crews working through the winter to complete the project. In addition, the Engineer's Office was able to maintain its planned bridge budget for the 2020 construction season, which allows for the repair of approximately one dozen bridges throughout the county.
