Call for Poets to Participate in a "Green or Red" Poetry Slam at the Bosque Chile Festival, Aug. 18
ALBUQUERQUE, NM (7/18/18) --The deadline for poets to apply to participate in the Bosque Chile Festival Red or Green Poetry Slam is July 27, 2018.
 
The third annual Bosque Chile Festival is a unique celebration of food, art and culture in New Mexico's Middle Rio Grande Valley.
 
New this year is the Red and Green Poetry Slam that will feature six New Mexican poets taking a poetic stand on "Green or Red?" and competing for cash prizes during the day's events. Three slam winners will receive a prize of $100 with a $100 bonus for the champion. Poems will be displayed in the halls of the National Hispanic Cultural Center's History and Literary Arts building in the Fall/Winter of 2018/2019. Poets receive free entrance to the festival.
 
The Bosque Chile Festival will take place at the National Hispanic Cultural Center, 1701 4th Street SW, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Aug. 18. Admission is only $5 and kids five years and under are free.
