Musings from our President

Greetings of Late Summer,

Next up, our annual meeting - along the Champlain shoreline for the first time in a long time. Center stage are committee reports, some voting and perhaps a surprise? This gathering never fails to bring out a best membership camaraderie. Perhaps there is a phew! going on, but straightaway there's also visible enthusiasm for picking up that pencil and signing up for the committee(s) of your choice for the next year. On the garden fence about a committee choice? How about taking yet another peek at the committees page on our website?

Cheers!

Nancy

AUGUST 14 MEETING RECAP
Mary Page (Frisky) Hickey gave a dynamic presentation at the Ausable Club on August 14 where all those present were in awe of her spectacular botanical paintings. Her talk included overviews of the history of botanical painting, the painting process, the book project, and the importance of using native plants in gardens. Frisky enlightened us on the incredible detail and patience that is needed to be a successful botanical artist. In addition to Frisky's wonderful presentation we enjoyed a delicious lunch together and one and all were taken-back by the gorgeous 90th Anniversary cake (pictured above) made by a very talented baker at the Ausable Club.

Further details on Frisky’s presentation as well as more photos will be available on our website soon.
