Please join Oakland City Councilmember Dan Kalb, the Temescal Telegraph Business Improvement District (TTBID) and Groundworks Office for a presentation of pedestrian plaza proposals at Kasper's on Shattuck Ave from 45th to 46th.

This pedestrian plaza will create a welcoming public gathering spot for our community while also significantly improving car, bike, and pedestrian safety. Elements to be considered include - but are not limited to - seating, tables, temporary and/or permanent art, plants,
and play areas for children.

Groundworks will present various concepts for the plaza and answer questions, so please come with your thinking cap. The Community's Voice Matters! This plaza should be a vibrant and welcoming gathering spot and that cannot happen without YOUR feedback. Please contact the Temescal BID at [email protected] with any questions.  Hope to see you there!

If you can't attend the public meeting, please take the online survey HERE to give us your feedback on the pedestrian plaza proposals. The survey will close on August 1st.

Now - Spring 2019

The City of Oakland Department of Transportation (OakDOT) is Repairing Telegraph from MacArthur Blvd to 52nd Street in 2019! In addition to repaving, OakDOT is designing safety and mobility improvements, and would like your input. Telegraph is a High Injury Corridor (among the 6% of Oakland streets that account for about 60% of severe and fatal traffic injuries) and with the repaving efforts, OakDOT has the opportunity to redesign the street to prevent crashes, improve safety for people walking and biking, enhance transit reliability and better match curb space to the needs of businesses and visitors. Visit  bit.ly/repair-telegraph  to help guide the design and improve safety on Telegraph.

OakDOT will be posting a summary of outreach events on their website in the next day or so, and will also be at the 40th St. Block Party to talk more this Saturday. Feel free to come by and share your thoughts!
