Council Service Center Announcement
UPDATE: Local Scouting Dealing With the COVID – 19 Virus
[Through April 30, 2020]

To Our Scouting Family:

These are uncertain and troubling times for all of us. Our first thought is for the safety and well-being of our Scouting family and friends. We want to assure you that we are taking all precautions to keep Scouting safe now and in the future.

We continue to closely monitor the developments and recommendations put forth both locally and through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) while keeping in mind the safety and well-being of our employees, Scouts, leaders and their families.

As we follow the direction set by government and healthcare officials addressing the spread of COVID-19 in our communities, we remain committed to ensuring that we continue to support you and our Scouts.  To that effect, our Scout Service Center, Scout Shop and camps will remain closed through April 30, 2020 or upon further notice .

Scouting is Still Happening!

While Scout units are not able to hold in-person meetings and activities during this time, Scouting is still happening. Visit the Northern New Jersey Council Website www.nnjbsa.org and social media pages for lots of FUN activities, as well the National BSA Scouting from Home site https://www.scouting.org/scoutingathome/

Service to units and volunteers CONTINUES.
  • Though the NNJC Scout Service Center Administrative Office is closed, we continue to process charters, Eagle Scout applications, registration, donations and payables. Please drop any paperwork you have to submit in the mail or into the drop box outside the front door to the building.
  • The field staff continue to work remotely via phone and email. Please feel free to reach out to them should you need anything.
  • Your telephone calls, emails and mailings will continue to be addressed during this time.
  • There will be NO Scout meetings held at the service center during this time. However, our team is available to support units plan and hold virtual meetings and activities.
  • All weekend reservations at a NNJC camp will be rescheduled or refunded should rescheduling not be an option.
  • All council meetings/activities/events scheduled during April will be held virtually or postponed to a date in the future. Please visit www.nnjbsa.org for further details.

Show your appreciation to essential workers!
We could not get through these difficult times without the everyday heroes who go to work each day to ensure that the sick are cared for, we have food to eat, our mail is delivered and so much more. We encourage all Scouts to demonstrate their appreciation for the essential workers (health care, law enforcement, grocery workers, etc.) with letters, social media postings, or other ways you can. Share your actions of appreciation at #NNJCGOODTURN

Stay home. Stay safe. Save lives.

 Yours in Scouting,
