Academic Support Counselors Mike Boutin (SHRS) and Steve Ciesielski (SON) will host two weekly support groups via Zoom.

Group 1: Balancing parenting and online education. Now that many schools have migrated online, adult learners and their children are home which creates new challenges. Join a group of other IHP students who are also parents seeking to balance both responsibilities. This group will meet on Thursdays, 4:00–5:00 p.m.

Group 2: IHP students living by themselves during this time of self-quarantine. Connect with peers who can relate to the pros and cons of living alone. This group will meet on Mondays, Noon–1:00 p.m.

Contact Mike or Steve with any questions. Sign up.

Please contact Amanda Tarbet with any questions.

(4) IHP Self-Care Challenge: Adorable Animals (Institute Wide)
From Kerry Kearns, Office of Student and Alumni Services and Amanda Tarbet, Office of the Provost

Whether it’s your pet or a cute animal video, watching silly animal antics is a great way to release some stress and have a good laugh. Share your favorite animal video with us through Instagram @IHPStudentLife, email Student Life, or use #IHPSelfCare

(5) Virtual Bone Marrow Drive (Institute Wide)
From JP Bonadonna, Student Government Association

The SGA Community Outreach Committee is partnering with Be the Match to host a Virtual Bone Marrow Drive. Although we are all adhering to stay-at-home practices, there are still ways to assist our community. While the chances of finding a bone marrow match are 77% for white Americans, these numbers are drastically reduced for racial minorities - 57% for American Indian and Alaska Native, 46% for Hispanic or Latinx, 41% for Asian or Pacific Islander, and 23% for Black or African American. Simply register online or by texting MGHIHP to 61474 and a kit will be sent to your home. Don't forget to spread the word to classmates, friends, and family.

(6) Brookline Town Hall – Friday, April 3 (Institute Wide)
From Dr. Kimberly Truong, Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

The Town of Brookline Select Board and the Brookline Asian American Family Network are hosting a town hall about how to combat discrimination due to COVID-19 and being an ally to the Asian American community in the greater Boston area on Friday, April 3 at 2:30 p.m. via Zoom. The Brookline Interactive Group will also livestream this event.
