The Nancy K. Perry Children’s Shelter has a deep rich history, not only here in Lexington County but, around the entire state of South Carolina. The Nancy K. Perry Children’s Shelter originated from a place of compassion and servanthood for children in crisis. 
Vision

We believe that all children can thrive and find success when the right environment is created.

Mission

To provide a safe and nurturing family-style environment for children who are in crisis allowing them an opportunity to heal and grow.
WHAT WE DO!
Residential Services:  
A nurturing home environment filled with love, kindness, and gentle guidance. The security of a family-like atmosphere headed by house parents who live in the facility providing 24-hour supervision. 

Therapeutic Support: 
NKPCS staffs a Full Time Licensed Professional Counselor to provide both group and individual sessions allowing our residents to process their traumas and learning and practices coping skills to help them respond to the world around them.

Equine Therapy: 
Dream Riders is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation providing a unique approach to physical, emotional, and recreational therapeutic fun for both children and adults with special needs, presently serving people with mental and/or physical disabilities.

Tutoring Program:
NKPCS Title 1 tutoring program is a comprehensive program used to raise the academic achievement for our residents. NKPCS agrees to and conducts educational and support programs for neglected and delinquent children as required under the guidelines and regulations governing Title I, Part D.

Kid's Day of Lexington
Kid's Day of Lexington is solely intended for the education of families on issues of health, safety and environmental awareness. A beneficiary of this event is the Nancy K. Perry Children's Shelter.

Location: Virginia Hylton Park in downtown Lexington
Date: Saturday, April 27th, 2019
Time: 10am - 2pm

New Executive Director
Ryan Taylor is a highly motivated behavioral health clinician and administrator. He seeks to improve the care of individuals by providing quality therapeutic services and strong and effective leadership. His vision is to lead teams to better the lives of others.

Ryan is a Licensed Professional Counselor in both South Carolina and Georgia and a National Certified Counselor. He earned a Master of Professional Counseling degree from Liberty University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of South Carolina Aiken. He is also a Certified Telehealth Coordinator and Assessing and Managing Suicide Risk (AMSR) trainer. Ryan has experience in adult outpatient therapeutic service, family in-home services, and child/adolescent residential services.

He spent his youth in the mountains of Colorado. Ryan is a proud Lexington resident and has lived in South Carolina for the last fifteen years. He is a devoted husband and a proud father of two girls.
