Dear BFCCPS Community,

We are very excited to share the details of our second ScreenFree Weekend for families. This weekend is designed to bring our community together and support the school mission

To kick off our ScreenFree festivities, we will hold Sustained Silent Reading for all students in the afternoon of Friday May 4th.  You'll find details on a Family Trivia Night, a service day at The Elisha Project and a day to explore nature at The DelCarte Conservation Area.

This year our ScreenFree weekend also coincides with ArtWeek; between the offerings listed below and the ArtWeek offerings there will be a number of activities to disconnect and reconnect with your family and the BFCCPS Community.

Have a great rest of the week,

As part of BFCCPS's Screen Free weekend we are coordinating service opportunities for BFCCPS Families.

We invite you to join us at the Elisha Project to serve the homeless by making and delivering hot meals.  The Elisha Project is a non-profit organization that not only welcomes people to serve but also asks for monetary donations from the service group to cover the costs.

Twenty adult volunteer spaces are available to start, you are welcome to bring your children to volunteer alongside you as a family event. If we have more interested families we will work to secure additional spaces.
You can click here to reserve your volunteer space.

Please note: Adult volunteers are asked to contribute $55 per person to cover the cost of the lunch supplies for 10 dinners.  Students can volunteer for free with an accompanying paid adult volunteer.

Place:  EP HQ, 65 Newport Avenue, Rumford, RI 02916
(cross street is Moore Avenue - across from Burlington Coat Factory and behind the nail salon)
Time: Arrive at  1pm
Parking : plenty of parking in rear of building (please leave donated water in your vehicle)

This opportunity will be lots of fun and lots of work. Volunteers typically prepare meals for 1-2 hours then drive to the "Give Zone" for arrival by 3pm and the dinners typically go in 30-40 minutes.

Visit  www.ElishaProject.org  for more information.
