For the first time in decades, Fly Ranch is open to public for guided tours!

Fly Ranch is located on private land in Washoe County, Nevada approximately 20 miles north of Gerlach and spans 3,800 acres. Fly Geyser is located near the edge of Fly Reservoir in the Hualapai Geothermal Flats. In June 2016, the non-profit Burning Man Project announced that they had purchased the Fly Ranch, including the geyser for $6.5 million.

The guided tours last about three hours. Right now, the Burning Man Project is offering two tours a weekend.  About 20 people can attend one of those walks at a time. The organization plans to offer more tours each weekend in the coming months.

The tour gives participants an immersive experience. You can see three or four different areas. There's a wet spring area, there's a playa area. With an experience like this, people can learn about some of the plants that are there and some of the animals that are there.

There's a suggested $40 minimum donation and organizers say they want to keep the tours "device-free" - meaning no cell phones.
