Emergency care for severely physically disabled persons
Is Easy Does It, a nonprofit providing emergency services for disabled Berkeley residents, in compliance with City contract requirements and are they using Measure E and Measure B funds as intended by taxpayers?
Measure E was passed by Berkeley's voters to provide funding for specific emergency services and incidental case management. However, Easy Does It is unable to verify compliance with Measure E. EDI must implement policies and procedures to ensure it uses Measure E funding as intended, and improve documentation to demonstrate appropriate use of Measure B funds. We provided twenty recommendations for EDI to improve compliance and reduce risk. EDI management and the City's management agreed to implement all recommendations.
