Any Nationally Recognized Test Lab (NRTL) that is certified by OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration, U.S. Department of Labor) can provide Safety Certification testing for LED light fixtures. Today there are over 30 NRTL accredited Labs. Solas Ray Lighting’s NRTL provider is Intertek/ETL, an industry leader for over 100 years in 1,000 locations in over 100 countries.
The Question:
What’s the difference between the UL and Intertek labels for U.S. required Safety Certification on LED light fixtures?
The Answer:     NONE.
The Intertek and UL marks both indicate that lighting products have met the minimum requirements of the applicable OSHA safety standards. Additionally, both marks validate the product’s continued compliance to these standards as evidenced by periodic factory follow-up inspections.
