November 2019
You have access to the Lake Wales Public Library 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
LW Public Library's Materials are
Now Overdue Fine Free
We get it. Life can get in the way, and library materials are suddenly overdue, with fines building.

Beginning November 1 the Lake Wales Public Library will no longer charge daily overdue fines for our materials. Fines will still be assessed on overdue books, movies, and audio books borrowed from other Polk County Library Cooperative locations.

In addition, existing overdue fines will be removed from Lake Wales Public Library materials.

The library’s goal is to provide full access to our books, movies, magazines, electronic resources and services without undue financial hardships to valued customers.

We encourages people who have overdue Lake Wales Public Library materials or existing fines on Lake Wales Public Library materials to come back to the Lake Wales Public Library and use our collection and services with no cost assessed.

Lost and damaged fees will continue to be charged.

Materials that are over 30 days past the date they were due are considered lost and the customer’s library record will be assessed the cost of replacement. Bring the lost items back, and only a small $2.50 processing fee will be charged.

If customers have Lost items they will lose library privileges and services until the materials are returned or paid for. Likewise, customers are responsible for the cost of damaged materials.

For a complete overview of our new Overdue Fine Free policy call the library, 863-678-4004, email library@lakewalesfl.gov or visit our website www.lakewalesfl.gov/library.
