Night To Unite Seeks Support From Shakopee Businesses
Night to Unite, an annual event held on the first Tuesday in August, promotes neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships. This year's event will take place on August 7.
The Shakopee Police Department is asking local businesses for donations of items that can be put into 100 bags for Night to Unite Block Captains.

Summer History Scavenger Hunt
In honor of the their 50th anniversary, the Scott County Historical Society wants you to get out this summer and explore! Visit ten Scott County historic locations between June 1 and August 20 and take a selfie or a family photo at each site.
Once you collect all ten photos, email them with the subject line "SCHS50thsummer" to

. Prizes will be awarded to all who complete the hunt at SCHS's 50th Anniversary picnic on August 25.

Businesses Invited To Join Employer Of Excellence Program
Interested in seeing how your business stacks up against other local businesses? Take part in the Employers of Excellence program offered by the Dakota Scott Workforce Development Board.
With employment rates low in both Dakota and Scott counties, businesses need to know how to best recruit and retain employees. Each participant in the Employers of Excellence program will complete a 40-question survey and then receive a detailed, confidential report to compare their business to others in the community.
