will make their weekly delivery, and the choir will invite us to "attend and see" in the gorgeous Pablo Casals anthem "O Vos Omnes." Find your place in the Baptism Class at 9:30 Sunday. Join us as we gather for service, learning & worship in beauty and holiness.

Rector's Notes: We are half way through Lent. A time for quiet . . .a time for reflection . . . a time for discovery. William Willimon, in the "Thought for the Week" below, suggest that baptism brings together the fullness of our seeking in Christ and in life. Knee deep in the Jordan, Jesus's baptism was the first day in his journey, his via crucis. The whole way for Jesus is revealed in his moment of baptism. Likewise, the way for us is revealed not only in the baptism of Jesus, but our own baptisms and every baptism of which we are a part. While our destiny may not be alone on a cross on a barren hillside, we should yet expect our baptism to so transform us that we become the means by which God's grace, mercy, justice, and love is made incarnate in the world. Lent is a time to embrace this calling of baptism and allow God's Holy Spirit to empower of witness to God's purpose in Creation. May God continue to guide us along the way of Lent!

A primer on Christian life and faith in the Anglican/Episcopal
Tradition.
This is for all ages--for those new to the Episcopal Church, those desiring to be confirmed in the Episcopal Church, and those who just want to refresh their faith.
This series also serves as preparation for renewal of baptismal vows and/or confirmation (June 1 @ St. Mary's KCMO).
Sunday's lesson will be the second question of the baptismal covenant and the Church of England and the Reformation

Maundy Thursday Dinner
April 18th at 5:30 pm
in the Parish Hall. The cost this year will be
$10/person and $7 for children 5 and older. For children under 5, we ask that you make a donation in the amount you feel appropriate. After dinner, we invite you to attend the Maundy Thursday Service that begins at 7:00 p.m.

Help Wanted - Are you Feeling Called?
Wednesday Evening Pantry Volunteers
You need a Lenten discipline, and we need two people. Please. One to check pantry clients in, and one to help load their items in their cars. This is a very important opportunity to help us help people who work during the day, and need food for their families. Please speak to Karen Seitter about which Wednesdays over the next 8 weeks, you are able to help from 5:15-7:30. Thank You.

Hosting Coffee Hour is a fun and easy way to get to know other St. Paul's members! The host brings the food and the church provides the drinks. An example of what a host might bring would be: two large pans of brownies (cut very small), maybe a bowl of fruit (oftentimes grapes cut into small clusters), and a bowl or two of pretzels or popcorn. If you have questions or wish to co-host with another member, please contact Alison. Dates are available.

Name Tag Ministry - Yes!!
We are waiting for three people to call the office and let them know they are willing to A.) secure a machine and supplies 2.) generate the name tags and iii.) help us have a great time as a parish family, getting to know each other better, and being more welcoming to our weekly (yes - we have them every week) visitors and guests. Many many people have asked for the return of the name tags. Won't you please be awesome, and step up? Age 10 and over, please. Thank you!!

SPEAKING OF AMAZING VOLUNTEERS:
Emergency Food Distribution at
the St. Paul's Pantry
Hats off to Melissa Hill, Jacob Burch, and an outstanding group of volunteers for another highly successful TEFAP distribution Saturday morning, March 16. Even though some regular volunteers were missing because of spring break plans, the group nevertheless served over 100 households, representing over almost 300 people! A tremendous success !
Make plans now to volunteer for the next distribution on Saturday morning, April 20, from about 9:00 to about 12:15. Contact Melissa Hill for details.

To be baptized "into Christ" and "in the name of Christ" means to be incorporated into the way of life which characterized his life, the life of the empty one, the servant, the humble one, the obedient one, obedient even unto death (Phil. 2:6-11). That day at the Jordan, knee deep in cold water, with old John drenching him, the Anointed One began his journey down the via crucis. His baptism intimated where he would finally end. His whole life was caught up in this single sign. Our baptism does the same.
