Donor Spotlight
Dr. Robert H. Sandel

Dr. Sandel has been a community college educator for more than 30 years, but his passion goes beyond education. The real mission of Virginia Western, he emphasizes, is to prepare students for the workforce. Because of this passion, Dr. Sandel has chosen to support another organization that helps people overcome barriers to employment, Goodwill. "There is nothing more transformational than making a difference in people's lives," Dr. Sandel says, and he would know. During his 17 years at Virginia Western, countless students have benefited from the work that he has done to make education for in-demand careers accessible to everyone.
The Impact of Goodwill
A message from our President & CEO, Bruce Phipps

Just a few months ago we released our 2017 Community Report: IMPACT. Stories of personal success and photos of individuals whose lives have been changed through the work of Goodwill were highlighted in the report. Now, we are able to quantify that impact, and I'm proud to share the results with you.

Every two years, the Virginia Goodwill Network (VGN) does a study on the economic and fiscal impact* of Goodwill in the Commonwealth. The study is done by the Elliot D. Pollack & Company and results are shared with the public so you may better understand how your support of Goodwill is truly helping people and our communities. Together, the six Goodwill agencies that make up the VGN had a $718.1 million impact on communities in 2017.
