Come to D.C. on June 23rd for a Huge Rally
on the Mall
10:00 am
National Mall by Jefferson Drive SW 7th St. SW, Washington, DC

Let's have a huge turnout...
In the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King to realize his "Dream" by calling out  the same four evils identified by the Poor People's Campaign
* Racism * Poverty * Militarism * Ecological Devastation

Hello Branches, Members, and Friends

This is not just the end of the 40 Days of Action....it is the beginning of the movement as we go back to our states to continue educating and mobilizing.

Please make plans now to come to Washington, D.C. to join people from across the county at the Saturday, June 23rd Rally on the National Mall in D.C.

The bus logistics are being worked out now, so stay in touch with your state coordinator.

June-23-Flyer
Here's the June 23rd flyer. Please print out and post at your Food Coop, church, and other prominent gathering places.

Beginning Sunday, June 17 there will be a huge tent and other facilities set up on the Mall with events, making art projects for the rally, music, food, discussions: on Thursday, June 21, Non-violent Fusion Direct Action is planned.  Come to DC for that week if you can.

Here's a letter of invitation from the Poor People's Campaign Organizers for the June 23rd rally. The letter also includes historical background of the August 28, 1963 March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom when 250,000 people were on the Mall to hear Dr. Martin Luther King when he gave his historic "I Have a Dream Speech."

Please send this Letter of Invitation to organizations you work with, friends and family and invite them to join you at the June 23rd Rally.

RSVP for the Rally on Facebook here to let the Poor People's Campaign know you will be at the Rally. Updates will be posted about how to get to the rally including info on rideshares and free buses in your area. In 1963, people arrived by plane, train, bus, and car from all across the country.

Time to make your reservation.

Let's exceed that 1963 turnout!   Many hundreds of church, labor, health, environmental, LGBTQ, and environmental and climate groups are making plans to come to DC. for the Rally.

Bus Registration Form is available here. Please fill out this registration form to let the PPC organizers know your plans.

Please email Mary Bricker-Jenkins at [email protected] to let her know you will be coming to DC. As a partnership organization, we'd like to give the PPC organizers an estimate of how many WILPFers will be participating on June 23rd holding high our Branch PPC banners.

Start working now with your state PPC contact and with your local groups to organize buses, find accommodations, and volunteer.  Find your state coordinator here.
