Construction spending moves higher on home-building boost  - Building activity in the U.S. jumped more than expected in April, as spending grew 1.8 percent over March, and was 7.6 percent higher than a year ago. Residential construction accounted for much of the industry's robust numbers.

Cash flow problems affect nearly 20% of construction companies  - A recent survey conducted by solutions providers TSheets and zlien reports that one in five contractors has a cash flow problem that bleeds over into other aspects of the business. When asked how often they are paid on time, only 8% of respondents said "always."
