APS Annual Awards Ceremony
Come celebrate the year with us at our Annual Awards Ceremony on Saturday, May 19, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Yarborough Branch Library – 2200 Hancock Dr, Austin.
Winners of the Annual Contests will be announced at this meeting and first place poems will be read aloud by the poets if they are in attendance.
It will be the final APS meeting of the year until fall, so don't miss out!

Poetry Contests and Calls for Submissions
- The Alabama State Poetry Society is accepting submissions for the annual John and Miriam Morris Memorial Chapbook Competition. The deadline is May 31. The winner receives $100 and 25 copies of their winning chapbook. Poems may be prevviously published if the poet retains all rights. ’s poem “Dear español,” which was previously published in Australian Latino Press, will be performed by an actor from “Play On Words,” a collaborative literary performance group. The poem will be performed on April 11 at the Stritch Café in San Jose, California.
