Community Leadership Program of The Chamber
2019/2020
|
|
Participants
A representative group of 18—20 candidates are selected from all segments of government, education, labor, business, professional and geographic areas within the Caldwell Community. Because leaders spring from all sectors of the community, Leadership Caldwell seeks to bring together a broad cross-section of participants who represent diverse backgrounds and lifestyles.
Candidates for the program must demonstrate a commitment to the future of Caldwell, accomplishment within your own organization, involvement in community activities, a capacity for leadership and a willingness to commit the time and energy required to participate in the Leadership Caldwell program.
Leadership Caldwell is a program of the Chamber and is underwritten by the Chamber, in-kind donations and tuition. Curriculum and other program specifics are overseen by the Leadership Caldwell committee.
The Application
Each year businesses, public and private agencies, civic organizations and clubs are asked to identify candidates for the program. Individuals with no sponsoring groups may be self nominated. A written application and personal interview with the selection committee are required. Candidacy is open to all regardless of age, creed, race or philosophy, who seek to contribute their skills, knowledge and expertise to the betterment of the Caldwell Community.
Participants are selected based on the criteria established by the committee of Leadership Caldwell. The deadline to submit an application for Leadership Caldwell is Aug. 9th.
Tuition
Tuition for Leadership Caldwell is ($650). Tuition covers all program costs, meals and materials. Tuitions may be paid by the candidates employer, a sponsor or the candidate. Full tuition is due no later than August 1st. No tuition refunds will be made after the class member has participated in the opening orientation. Do not send tuition with your application. For more information contact the Caldwell Chamber of Commerce.

RECOGNIZING ONE OF OUR LONG STANDING MEMBERS

United Oil has been a part of southern Idaho history since 1939 when it was founded in Twin Falls, Idaho. It began as a fuel service station with delivery service to farms in Magic Valley. In the 1940’s it expanded to include a tanker transport division complete with a truck sales & service and a parts department.
In the fall of 1948 R.L. Franklin, Jr. (Bob) established Franklin Oil Company in Caldwell, Idaho. Home heating oil delivery and farm delivery service were the original components to the business. In the 1960’s the company began a period of growth which included retail service stations and sales to branded dealers. Franklin Oil was also a pioneer in commercial “cardlock” fueling ventures.
In 1975 the Franklin family purchased United Oil in Twin Falls to expand its base of operations into south central Idaho. In the 1990’s United Oil grew again when it purchased Bob Nicholes Oil Company in Caldwell, Jerome Gas & Oil, Buhl Gas & Oil, Stewart Service and Glenns Ferry Oil.
With the purchase of American Energy (RV Oil) in 2000 United Oil grew to include new product lines and service areas. In May of 2005 United Oil grew again with the acquisition of BriCo of Idaho, a large Chevron-branded fuels and lubricant distributor. K-Energy, in Gooding, Idaho, became a part of United Oil in 2008. In 2012 United Oil welcomed the opening of Twin Falls Truck and the acquisition of Black Oil.
United Oil is known throughout the Northwest as a marketer of a wide variety of petroleum fuels and lubricants. The company is presently managed by third generation Franklin family members and directs its focus to retail locations, agriculture, warehouses, commercial fueling network, intrastate transport delivery and pipeline terminal services.
As we embark upon the 21
st
Century United Oil continues to concentrate on its mission of serving southern Idaho with a diverse product line, competitively priced, with prompt and reliable service. In the coming years we will work to serve both our employees and customers in the best way possible.
