We're just as excited about it as the 10s & 11s teams.  

If you haven't figured out your summer plans yet, make sure to check out the variety of programs provided at WAVE this summer.  They offer any age or skill a chance to build aspects of the physical and mental game.

We had a WAVE parent approach us and ask if he could help "put us on the map" so to speak so we agreed and now both gyms are available to be seen from Google Maps, Google Earth, and even Google Street View. Here is an example of what it looks like  https://www.instagram.com/p/Bjgkhs-hbGb

 

But wait, it gets even better! We were able to put all those images onto Google by also having the same parent 3D scan our facilities with Matterport.  Matterport does for homes and businesses what Google Streets does for roads. 

End of the Season Tournaments
will be here before we know it.  It is getting closer to that time of the year when you'll walk into the gym for the final day as a team this season.  Play with heart and walk out with your heads held high.

Open to all incoming 3rd-12th grade Girls & incoming 3rd-9th grade Boys.

There's no need for a partner, there are multiple options for attendance, and 11 weeks of fun ahead.

NFL Legend Jeff Garcia Instills his Wisdom       

A group of WAVE Beach athletes received a special visit from Jeff Garcia at practice.  He shared the story of his path to the NFL, to provide inspiration and the importance of internal drive to reach your goals. 

En Fuego

Great play continues for the beach athletes with wins, places, and shows at numerous tournaments up and down the coast.  Definitely a highlight to see some our athletes play and win on center court during the AVP First Pacific Zonal Championship hosted at the FIVB/AVP Huntington.  

The season is in full swing with a number of championship tournaments on the horizon - keep up the hustle!

There are a multitude of  Beach Tournaments  available.  Get out & play!

The Beast Mode Challenge

The goal of this challenge is to complete the following sprints as fast as you can.   You begin with 6, then 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 down and backs in the sand with a one minute rest in between.  The overall fastest time claims the spot on the leader-board.

Hodge's Hints for Recruiting 

Summer camps are important in the recruiting process.  Be sure to find out if the coaches of the college camps you are attending are aware that you are signed up.  There should be prior conversations with that school and hopefully you receive an invitation from them to maximize this investment.  

Choose a couple of camps as you do not need to burn yourself out all summer traveling from college to college.

Volley & Vine Fundraiser

WAVELength  hosted their 4th Annual Sunset Soiree on Thursday, May 17.  Sharing the love of and appreciation for what this great sport does for the soul was definitely apparent throughout the evening.

Thank you to all the teams for their amazing baskets and opportunities that their auction earnings will provide to volleyball players throughout the country.  A round of applause to 14Tammy and their "Wine Pull."  Definitely a top earner and most likely a mainstay in the future in case you missed out this year.
