Series: "Pots of Clay"
Scripture: Mark 3:1-6
This week is Mission Sunday! We will gather at 9:00 am to worship, sing, and praise God. We will then move into mission projects throughout the community. We do mission to be of service to others, but also because we are transformed in the process by meeting Christ in others. We are like lumps of clay, still being formed by God's love and gentle nudging to move beyond our comfort zone and care for all God's children and even all of God's creation. Mission projects this year include Days for Girls sewing, filling birthday bags, and snack bags for preschoolers, litter removal in local public areas, stream restoration, and yard work for our elders who could use a hand. If you haven't signed up, it's ok. Come anyway and we'll put you to work. At 12:30, we'll gather back at church for lunch and a brief time of sharing from each of the groups what they did and how they recognize God's work in their lives through mission.

Reconciling Ministry Network
VOTE
Sunday, April 7 @ 10:00am Worship Service
You received an email on Tuesday stating that the Considering Reconciling Committee (CRC) recommended, and the Core Leaders Team (CLT) approved, that Aldersgate should move forward and vote on whether to become members of the Reconciling Ministries Network (RMN). This vote will happen on Sunday, April 7 during one combined worship service at 10:00am. A similar letter will be mailed out over the weekend, this time by "snail" mail to be sure everyone gets the message. As expected there continues to be any number of questions around the upcoming decision about whether to join the Reconciling Ministry Network. In many cases there are deep feelings on all sides of the issues that under gird this decision. The CRC committee has recommended that there be additional gatherings to talk about all of it. There are three gatherings planned as follows:
- Wednesday, March 27 at 10:00am in Friendship Hall. Facilitated by Pastor Brad.
- Wednesday March 27 at 7:00pm in Friendship Hall. Facilitated by Pastor Brad.
- Tuesday April 2 at 7:00pm in Friendship Hall. Facilitated by Pastor Laura and Joe Lee (Core Leaders Team chairman)
All are welcome to attend. There is no agenda to these gatherings other than seeking to provide answers to questions and opportunities to voice opinions, if you feel that might be necessary. Please let Pastor Brad, Pastor Laura, or Joe know if you have any questions. They are aware that the feelings around decisions like this can be raw. Please come together in prayer, in fasting, and with the attitudes that love lay at the foundation for all we do.
These will be the final opportunities to gather before the vote is taken on Sunday April 7 at 10:00am.

Dinner will be prepared
by the Browder, Breske, Fenstermacher and Pearce families.
They will be sharing family stories and anecdotes while you dine on their favorite family dishes. The youth will be assisting and collecting tips for the Youth Group. In addition, a dessert auction will be held.
Cost is $30 per adult/youth or $15 per child 10 years old and younger.

UMCOR Offering

we will take a special offering to help fund the United Methodist Committee on Relief. UMCOR is a non-profit organization dedicated to alleviating human suffering around the globe. Their work reaches people in more thatn 80 countries, including he United States. UMCOR's work includes programs and projects in disaster response, health, sustainable agriculture, food security and relief supplies. Your generous gifts to UMCOR bring light out of darkness. UMW Special Mission Award
The United Methodist Women (UMW) of Aldersgate are requesting nominations for the Special Mission Award. Any person in the church is eligible for this award based on service to the church and the community but special attention is given to those who participate in or support UMW and their mission projects. Aging in Place and Fall Prevention

Deborah Circle is pleased to invite you to hear Gretchen Stuenkel, Occupational Therapist, talk about aging in place and preventing falls, an important issue for all ages, on Monday,

Easter Fun
We will have the annual Easter Egg-Stavaganza, Tween Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt along with another Egg Hunt on Easter Sunday. These events are joy-filled times for our children, and families from the surrounding community come and join in on the fun. Your help is needed to make these events a big success so please sign up to volunteer or email Jen Hoerber.
- Volunteer at the Egg-Stravaganza on April 20 from 10:30am - Noon by staffing a craft or activity table, helping with refreshments, or leading a story.
- The Flashlight Egg Hunt will be held in conjunction with Club 345 and Youth Group on April 14. Dinner and festivities will be from 5:30 - 8pm.
- Come stuff Easter Eggs on Sunday, April 7 after worship and also on Wednesday, April 10 at 10:00am.
- Donations of small wrapped candy and toys are being accepted now through April 7. Look for a collection box in the narthex.

Reading Guide to Brian McLaren's Book
"We Make the Road by Walking"
During the coming seasons, many people from churches throughout the west will be reading chapters from Brian McLaren's book "We Make the Road by Walking". The chapters are intended to be read one per week.You may choose to read on a schedule that will coincide with themes in worship and the life of the church. Here is the reading schedule through Easter. Copies of the book are available for check-out from our church library or you may wish to order your own copy from Amazon or another online book seller.

Taco Bar a BIG Success!
A BIG Thank You to all those who served on the Taco Bar committee headed up by Patty Ferguson (Sheep) and to all those who donated in support of Camperships. A total of $1468 was collected last Sunday. Once the cost of food is subtracted, we will send a portion of these funds to the conference campership fund and the remaining portion will be added to the Aldersgate Campership account. Your generosity enables all children and youth to attend camp. Thank you!

Lost & Found
What was lost has been found - literally! Check out the Lost and Found table in the narthex and reclaim your stuff. There are umbrellas, clothes, glasses, serving dishes, jewelry, keys and tote bags. All unclaimed items will be donated to Goodwill at the end of March.

Club 345 (3rd~4th~5th Grade)

Emerald City Ringers Concert

at 7:00pm, come and see a handbell concert with ringers you recognize (Pastor Laura and Pam Johnson, AUMC Handbell Director) and a program full of dance music. From Stravinsky to Lady Gaga, with Little Eva and Abba in between, there will be music for everyone. Concert is at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Bellevue (411 156th Ave NE, Bellevue).

Mission Trip to Lazy F

Save the date! The Church Family Mission Trip to Lazy F Camp will be over the Memorial Day weekend, Friday, May 24 through Sunday, May 26. There will be projects for all ages and abilities, including activities for kids 2-12.

Mission Sunday Final Update
This Sunday, March 24 at 9:00am we will gather for one worship service. Following worship, we will divide into groups and do projects in the community or at church for the community that help us to both serve and meet our neighbors to learn from them what life is like outside our normal paths. The weather looks like it will be dry and not too hot or too cold, so there's nothing keeping us from making this a great event. Come dressed for the project you'll be doing. If you signed up to help outside, wear clothes appropriate for working in the yard. If you are planning to go to a home to do yard work, we have some tools, but if you have favorites, please bring them and label them. If you have children under 18 who are working on a project different from the one you are working on, before you leave please make sure that we have a permission slip from you to allow us to transport your children and/or treat them in case of emergency. At 12:30pm, we will gather back at church for lunch and a brief summary from each group. Feel free to come for whatever part of the morning you can make it, if you can't come for the whole time. Huge thanks to Green Team for planning and implementing this year's Mission Sunday 3.0.

Mission Sunday projects this year will include:
- Filling bags/backpacks at church: fill Birthday Bags with party supplies and preschool backpacks with healthy snacks .
- Days for Girls: sewing and cutting fabric in Friendship Hall to create reusable maxi-pads that enable girls to attend school in areas where otherwise they would be excluded during their periods.
- Litter pick-up: working in a park or public walk-way to remove litter and debris, making the area safe for pedestrians and children.
- Stream Restoration: Remove ivy, blackberries, and holly. Replant with hardy native plants
- Home Visits: yard work and outreach to church members who need a hand at home or who are preparing for home sale.
- Lunch: prepare, serve, and clean-up lunch for all volunteers and possibly for another community group in need of a meal. Lunch will be served at 12:30.
- Your idea for a project: Please see Pastor Laura if you have an idea for a Mission Sunday project.
Donations Requested for Mission Sunday
For the team that will be filling Birthday Bags, we could use donations of items to put in the bags. When you are out shopping, try to find a sale and pick up an extra to share with those who need it. As much as possible, look for items and wrapping that isn't plastic and doesn't have a negative impact on the Earth.

Habitat for Humanity Lunch
Thursday, March 28
Here is you chance to do something to ease the problem of housing for the homeless. The Habitat luncheon on March 28 is an opportunity the hear from someone who has benefited from Habitat's programs. The luncheon will be held at the Washington State Convention Center. A Showcase open house starts at 11:00am with the luncheon from 12:00 to 1:00pm. There will be rides from Aldersgate at 10:30am.
Join other Aldersgate members to support Habitat.
