ANNOUNCEMENTS
Tonight, Lenten Adult Education at 7 pm in the Education Wing. Join us for a discussion on the book  White Fragility. Books are available for sale. Second session on Sunday at 9:40 am.

Thanks from the Episcopal Center for Children  - Our March snacks have been delivered by Irene Fletcher, Patricia Dorn, and Janice Ezeani.  Many thanks to all of you who supported this part of Good Shepherd's special connection with the ECC.

Center Global Dinner - Last  Saturday evening, March 16, was our 4th opportunity to prepare and share a meal with clients and volunteers from Center Global at their monthly meeting and social gathering.  Wonderful folks from a variety of countries have left their homelands to seek asylum in this country because their home countries persecute their LGBTQ citizens.  They are strong and they are courageous.  It is an honor for us to have this opportunity to meet them and learn their stories and to know that there are many who are working on their behalf.  Please pray for all of them.  Special thanks to Shaun Hardy, Nina, Phill, Billy and Andy Scott, Laura Meissner Denmark, Abe Denmark, and baby Julia, Deacon Kathryn, Fr. David, and Greg and Lynn Wood.

Our Sunday, March 31 Social Justice Luncheon is Almost Here! - We will gather at noon in the parish hall for lunch (provided) and the opportunity to learn about Hunger and Homelessness in Montgomery County from our three speakers who are immersed professionally and personally in these matters of great import to our hearts and to our souls.  This Social Justice Luncheon is our opportunity to learn more about the reality behind the needs of many of our county's residents.  It is also our opportunity to show those in leadership roles how much we care as a faith community.  Our turnout will speak volumes so please plan to attend.  Please RSVP to the Eventbrite invitation that was emailed to you or sign up here   A $20 donation per family is requested, to be divided between Shepherd's Table and the Montgomery County Commission for the Homeless.  Questions can be addressed to Deborah Beebe and Shaun Hardy.

April 7 - Hospitality Cmte and BSA Event: Dirty water hot dog luncheon and Ukranian Easter Egg Workshop.

5th Annual Voices from the Holy Land Film Series  -  This year's first film is "Naila and the Uprising." Sunday, April 7, at 2:30 in the Perry Auditorium of the Washington National Cathedral.  Free.  When a nationwide uprising breaks out in 1987, a woman in Gaza must choose between love, family, and freedom.  Undaunted, she embraces all three.  Questions?  Ask Greg and Lynn Wood, who are members of the Washington Episcopal Holy Land Committee.

ONGOING
Saint Luke Food Pantry -  On March 31, we will learn more about the impact of Hunger and Homelessness in our "wealthy" Montgomery County.  Each nutritious staple that we place in the cabinet at the back of the sanctuary helps alleviate the hunger insecurity of a family or an individual whom we may never see.  As followers of Jesus, we support this ministry of doing our part to help feed those who are hungry.  We bring in, John MacArthur delivers. The staples are organized and distributed by Saint Luke volunteers almost as soon as they arrive.  The need is ongoing.  Thank you.

Heifer 2019 Buzzes On - Do you have your Heifer box?  Do you have your bee pin?  Have you thought about accepting Deena's 2019 Lenten Heifer Challenge?  Have you gone online to learn more about the work of Heifer International?  Have you gone online to learn more about the importance of bees?  Do you have a jar of honey in your house?  Ah, so many questions to contemplate as we march through Lent together.  The Heifer ingathering is Palm Sunday, April 14.
