We hope you enjoyed the holidays and are looking forward to another exciting year. Our community has been busy creating new and exciting opportunities for all ages. 

November has a lot in store: Mitzvah Day in New Jersey, a poetry reading, PJ Library kids events, conversation with creators and the cast of "Fauda", lectures and educational events. So much to choose from - and so little time!

Please note that December 1st is a deadline for Bronfman fellowship Application. We're proud to be an ambassador of this program and will be really happy if the 11th graders from Russian-speaking Jewish community will be chosen to be part of this unique and exciting opportunity, including a 5-week trip to Israel! RJKrug is a Russian Jewish Heritage Program 
for families with school-age children

 A few spots are available in our  Westchester RJKrug!  

In  RJKrug you and your children will:
  • Learn about the Russian Jewish heritage in an informal environment of private homes
  • Explore Jewish history, culture, traditions and wisdom, from ancient to modern
  • Enjoy interactive and intellectually stimulating sessions for adults and children, designed by leading experts in Jewish education
  • Participate in group trips and tours to places of Jewish interest
  • Create a community of like-minded families with a common goal of celebrating our heritage and values

JEvents NY and NJ Mobile App. This project gathers and presents Jewish events and programs of interest to the Russian-speaking Jews in a single user-friendly app. NY/NJ edition of JEvents was developed as a COJECO BluePrint Fellowship project by Elizaveta Pantiukhova.

COJECO Network Organizations News and Events
Alexander Veytsman writes poetry and prose in both English and Russian. His original poems, translations, as well as short stories and essays, have appeared in more than 50 publications worldwide.  A graduate of Harvard and Yale universities, he lives in New York City.  Alexander will read poems out of his new book, as well as those published in recent years.

Select Cast and Creators of Fauda

Please join the Conversations@Senesh speaker series featuring select cast and creators 
from Fauda, the popular Israeli television series on Netflix. Fauda (Arabic for 'chaos') 
follows an elite undercover Israeli army unit operating in Palestinian society. 
The program, in Arabic and Hebrew, is considered groundbreaking in its efforts 
to venture into the lives and minds of characters on all sides of the conflict. 
Tickets will go on sale on October 29 at 11AM and are expected to sell fast.

Musical Theater in Russian: Флюс и Пульпидус

Join other Russian-speaking families of Western Nassau County for a theatrical tale of 
two bacteria, Flus and Pulpidus, who planned a sweet new year in a little boy's 
mouth over the Rosh HaShana holiday. The tale teaches us the importance 
of brushing our teeth, especially during the sweetest of holidays. Written and directed 
by Gera Sandler. Ideal for children ages 3+ but all are welcome.

A Poetic Play: Монетки на Ветке 

Russian-speaking families are invited to attend a delightful Russian language play based on poems of Russian-Israeli children's book author, Leonid Soroka.  If your kids enjoy theater and music, join a poetry-infused performance with amazing actors and musicians: Sandler Gera , Tatyana Kot , Sergey Nagorny (COJECO BluePrint Alumnus) , and Alex Notkin  (COJECO BluePrint participant).   The Bronfman Fellowship Application: 
Application is OPEN for Jewish High School Juniors - December 1st Deadline

The Bronfman Fellowship is a mong the most prestigious programs available to Jewish 
high school students of all backgrounds. Each year fellowship selects a diverse group of 26 students for a year-long experience, starting with an all-expenses paid, 5-week trip to Israel. The purpose of the Fellowship is to invest  i n a cohort of talented young Jews who will become leaders in all areas of Jewish  and public life.  Applicants must be in 11 th  grade, self-identify as Jewish,  and live in the United States or Canada.

Russian-speaking Facilitators Needed for 
Virtual Senior Center Program

Using simple video-chat technology, homebound seniors participate in online programs facilitated by volunteers in a wide-ranging array of topics. Volunteers lead recurring classes from their home or office computer with a range of flexible scheduling options during the day, evening or weekend.  Facilitating one hour, interactive classes on diverse topics enables you and the homebound seniors to have meaningful interactions. 

Selfhelp is looking for Russian-speaking facilitators for the Virtual Senior Center, to participate  in one hour  class (on any topic that facilitator chooses: music and art appreciation, history, current events, seated exercise, games, health/wellness, sports, the sciences, cultures, travel, and literature. Any new ideas are welcome!)
