2018 JA Business
Hall of Fame Laureate Spotlight:
Kim and Randy Sweers

Randy and Kim Sweers are known as a power couple amongst South Florida's marine industry. Together they own and operate one of the area's largest boat dealerships. Launched by Randy in 1994 as Fastboats Marine Group and rebranded in 2016 as FB Marine Group, the family owned and operated empire has evolved from a small brokerage firm into a full-service marine operation with three South Florida locations - Pompano Beach, Miami, and Fort Lauderdale.

Born in Ontario and was raised in Pompano Beach, Randy received his MBA from the University of Toronto. He returned to South Florida to pursue a career in banking. Randy then left the financial world to pursue his love of boating which led him to his first job in the boat business at Champion Marine in Miami. A few years later, he resigned to seek self-employment and started his own boat dealership.

Kim was born and raised in Miami Beach. She attended Archbishop Curley High School in Miami and received her undergraduate degree from Florida International University majoring in Business Administration. Her roles at FB Marine Group include all day to day operations and acts as the company's CFO/COO.

Help Us Celebrate National Volunteer Week!
April 15-21, 2018

Volunteers are what set JA apart. They come from all walks of life and have a common purpose - to ensure  this  generation is better prepared for success than any generation in history. Each year, 7,000 JA v olunteers change the lives of our students by bringing them real world experience in the areas of personal finance, career skills and awareness and entrepreneurship.

We are so appreciative of all the volunteers who have shared their time and knowledge with our students. Thank you for inspiring them to dream about all the opportunities that lie ahead and sharing the stories of how they have impacted your lives in return.

We would love to hear from our volunteers!

Share your volunteer experiences on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter
and LinkedIn or email Christopher Miller at [email protected].

Be sure to use our hashtag #JAVolunteer!
Or, if you are not a volunteer yet...

Interview Your Future Interns This Friday!

At Junior Achievement, we believe that to solve a problem we need to recognize our share of responsibility. One of our core pillars is work readiness and so in response to the skills gap facing our community we developed the JA Career Bound program.

We invite you to join us in solving this problem and invest in our - your- future workforce. You can hire a JA Career Bound graduate, so you can be part of the solution and help build a strong workforce for the future.

At our Employment Expo, you will have the chance to meet and interview these motivated, resourceful and prepared workers who will bring valuable benefits to your company and team. Hiring interns also gives you the opportunity to brag about how you are helping to build our future workforce.

Come to our Employment Expo:
