Moving Toward Candidate Selection
The nominating subcommittees continue to work diligently in our search for candidates for our next bishop. Here are the latest updates as of June 30.
Online Interview & Retreat Subcommittee
The entire bishop nominating committee and our consultant met to screen and discuss the online interviews. We have further narrowed the pool of candidates. We will now begin checking references. Those clearing reference checks will be invited to attend the discernment retreat this fall.
References Subcommittee
This is a new subcommittee which consists of the Rev. Brenda Sol, the Very Rev. Penny Bridges, Mr. Ed Walsh, and the Rev. Pam Rieger. They will contact references and present results to the committee on July 30. After the July 30 meeting, we will send information to Oxford Documents for further background investigation.
Educating and Communicating Subcommittee
We continue to support other committees in sending diocesan wide announcements, links to subcommittee documents and regular progress reports.
The work of the listening session-survey, profiling, nominating and screening subcommittees has been completed and the members have been reassigned to assist other teams.
