We've got eggs!

Mr. Rook's 3rd & 4th Grade science students are doing a nest watch. They checked nest boxes this week and discovered, finally, eggs! Mr. Rook installed the nest boxes around the Sycamore Valley campus over three years ago. Six of the 18 boxes have a total of 22 eggs in them right now. Once all the eggs are laid, the sparrows will incubate the eggs for two weeks. When the hatchlings emerge they will be blind, naked, and helpless. The students are learning data collection methods used in wildlife biology and other scientific fields and they are excited about their latest discovery!

Our story begins centuries ago, when the royalty of Agrabah spoke one language and the citizens another. Communication is impossible without translation... which is controlled by the evil vizier, Jafar. When the rebellious princess, Jazmin, and a delinquent street rat, Aladdin, meet in the marketplace, they find something special in one another. Together, they work to transcend the barriers between them and, with a little magic, help create a better future for themselves and for Agrabah.

Family Support

Parent Partnering

It's no accident that our school community feels like an extended family. Rooted in our mission, we are truly "a collaborative community of educators and families working together to help our students grow." Parents, guardians, grandparents, and others are encouraged to come and share their talents or time with us. We encourage each family to make it a goal to give 30 volunteer hours each year.

Volunteer in a Classroom
Our teachers need you! Parents and guardians, grandparents, and interested community members are encouraged to set up a regular time to volunteer in our classrooms! This extra help goes a long way! Volunteer time spent making copies, stuffing home folders, and sorting/filing leaves more time for teachers to prepare lessons and activities for our students.  This community support translates all of the amazing things that we do at our schools.

Will you give an hour of your time to help support learning in your child's classroom? Contact your teacher to set up a time to lend a hand. Thanks in advance for your contribution!
