Old Woodward Reconstruction Project Update - 6/8/18
Further installation of the new concrete roadway was the story as another week of the reconstruction of Old Woodward winds down.

Contractors completed the new concrete roadway paving on Old Woodward, north of Maple. In addition, the vast majority of Maple is now covered in new concrete pavement, with curbs and gutters work slated to happen early next week. On the south end of the project, south of Maple on Old Woodward, preparation work is underway to begin concrete paving for the new roadway, with an anticipated start of June 18, 2018.

Looking ahead to next week (6-11-18 to 6-16-18), contractors will make asphalt repairs on the east and west ends of Maple and on the northern tip of Old Woodward. Also, it is anticipated that the landscape phase of the project will kick off. More details on the landscape phase will be provided early next week.

With a targeted completion date of early August, the underground infrastructure improvements and the above ground enhancements on Old Woodward will result in a modernized downtown core that City residents, merchants, stakeholders and visitors will be proud of and enjoy for decades to come. In the meantime, the public is encouraged to visit downtown and see the transformation first-hand while supporting city merchants. As a reminder, free parking in all City parking structures is now available on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) along with four, two-hour free valet parking stands strategically located near the construction zone.
