yasYour Academic Success (YAS) Survey

The Your Academic Success (YAS) survey is part of a longitudinal cohort study being conducted by the Faculty of Arts and Science at Queen's University that aims to look at how undergraduate students are thriving academically. The findings of the study will help inform the design and delivery of key academic support services.

The survey will be open until March 25, 2019, takes approximately 20 minutes to complete, and all answers are confidential.  Students who fill out the survey can choose to enter a draw to win one of 30 $30 Campus Bookstore gift cards.

Please help spread the word by sharing the link above with your students. If you could also share our  recent Facebook post with your networks, that would be greatly appreciated.

While the survey is open to all on-campus undergraduate students in Arts and Science, we are looking to capture a diverse set of responses, and thus, those from international and racialized students are especially important, valuable, and appreciated.

conferenceFAS Conference Fund

The FAS Conference Fund provides support for regular faculty members and continuing adjuncts in the Faculty of Arts and Science who are organizing professional conferences, colloquia, symposia, or workshops in the Kingston area or at the Bader International Study Centre in Herstmonceaux. The maximum amount of an award is $1,000. The funds may be increased to $3,000 for use as in-kind matching funds for external funding obtained through successful applications to external programs like the SSHRC Connections Grants Program. If an application for external funds is unsuccessful, the applicant may still be eligible for $1,000 in support from this fund.

Funding is awarded on a competitive basis and priority is given to events that (a) reach a broad audience, particularly at the national or international levels, (b) include student participation, particularly involving presentation of their research, (c) include partnering support from a department or departments and (d) how they incorporate attention to Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Indigeneity. The deadlines for applications are October 1, January 1, April 1, and July 1. Funds must be spent no later than 12 months after the deadline for the competition in which the funding application was submitted. Normally, funding decisions are made, and applicants are informed, no more than two weeks after the relevant application deadline. Apply here.
