Jamaica Pond
CALLING ALL SCOOTERS, skaters, and small-wheeled riders! Join Wee The People for a kid-powered mass action as we ride in solidarity with children who are being abused and caged indefinitely in immigration detention camps.
Wee on Wheels coincides with a weekend of nationwide protest actions July 12-13 under the Lights For Liberty banner. From lemonade stands to sit-ins outside US Senate offices, kids have been courageous and creative voices of resistance to the ongoing, inhumane policies of separation and detention of children and families crossing the border. Kids know instinctively that children don't belong in cages. And that innate sense of fairness makes them a powerful force for change.
Bring your protest signs, scooters, strollers, wagons, skates, and training-wheel-sized bikes (larger bikes are not allowed on the path) to Jamaica Pond. Together, we will go once around the pond in a show of unity with children whose fundamental rights and freedoms have been denied.

Weld Research Building of the Arnold Arboretum, 1300 Centre St, Boston, MA 02131, USA

Light pollution, simply put, is any unnecessary or excessive outdoor illumination. Sadly, it’s become a pervasive and ugly consequence of modern 24/7 society. Light pollution robs us of the night sky’s beauty, negatively affects the ecosystem, and creates an in-your-face waste of energy. But a new mindset and new technology are poised to slow — and perhaps reverse — this bane of modern life.
Free, but registration requested.
