Families-

Murwood students pledged to be not only people of character, but to attend school every day. They pledged in classrooms and signed the banner. Help us by bringing Every Student, Every Day!

News From the Office

A reminder to parents/guardians to please call the office (there is a 24 hour attendance line) whenever your child is going to be absent or late for any reason.  This saves the office a lot of time in tracking and verifying absent students and helps keep interruptions to the classrooms to a minimum. You will always receive a call from the school if your child has an unverified absence.  We ask that you call the office back at your earliest convenience to clear the absence.  And also, please make sure that your late student signs in at the office and obtains a pass.

Thank you.

Returning to Murwood?

Parents, please remember to take a moment to fill out the "Returning to Murwood" form sent to you last week.  The information we obtain from it is important in helping us plan for next year.

ART TO REMEMBER FUNDRAISER FOR NEXT YEAR'S SCIENCE CAMP

The 4th graders are participating in a creative fundraiser with Art to Remember!  Right now, our 4th graders are busy creating colorful, fun art work that will be transformed into keepsake products of YOUR choice.  Most products are
$15 or less.  33% of the profits come back to Murwood and will help with the costs associated with the Science Camp.  Be on the lookout for more information coming in the Wednesday envelopes and further communications from 4th grade parent, Dawn Greenaway.  This is a super FUNdraiser.  The kids are excited to see their art come to life in the products you choose.  Any siblings of current 4th graders are welcome to participate too.  Please contact Dawn Greenaway at  [email protected] if you'd like your younger child to participate. Thank you for your support of our soon to be 5th graders!
Multi-Cultural Night

Please join the Murwood PTA and the 5 the Grade class March 28th from 5:30-7 for our Multicultural Night Celebration!

We invite everyone to prepare a dish to share with the room, something traditional or a family favorite (please label, including your name, dish name, and ingredients). Our diversity is what makes Murwood the beautiful, inclusive community that we are, and we'd like to take a night to celebrate together.

Student's Heritage posters will be displayed.

A trio of students from the Mongolian Contortion Center of San Francisco will perform traditional Mongolian Contortion art.  In the past, Ms. Byamba's students have been featured on America's Got Talent. Next, Ujin, a Murwood student, and three friends will perform traditional Mongolian dance. The show will close with an Irish dance performance.

This is a terrific, family-fun filled, community evening. We are looking forward to seeing all of you there!

Traditional attire is also welcomed!
Amazon Smile

Murwood PTA received $74 from Amazon Smile for the Oct-Dec quarter.  That is free money to the school that comes from making your Amazon purchases through the  smile.amazon.com website  - it doesn't cost you any more than ordering through the regular Amazon website, and a small percentage of your purchase comes to Murwood PTA!  Remember to "smile" when ordering from Amazon.
Walnut Creek Education Foundation (WCEF)

Join Our Fundraising Team
WCEF needs volunteers to help build our Fundraising committee. Open board positions include VP (or co-VP) of Fundraising and Community and Business Development. VP of Fundraising works closely with the districts and principals to fundraise and identify areas where WCEF could improve education through funding. Community and Business works on monthly dine outs (9 during the academic year), as well as with the Chamber of Commerce.

WCEF also has non-board positions for those who want to help in more focused areas, including an Events Committee. These volunteers help with specific events throughout the year like Wellness, Spring Sings, Science Fairs, etc. For more information, head over to the volunteer section on our website or email [email protected] .
