Vibrant altar displays and lively cultural performances will headline Fullerton College's 26th annual Día de los Muertos event on Thursday, Oct. 24 at 6 p.m. The popular free event will feature more than 50 ofrendas, dance performances, local artists, music, food, and is expected to draw more than 1,000 people to campus for one of the most celebrated events in Hispanic and Latinx culture.

Boost Your Gender IQ with GLAAD
Fullerton College students and staff are invited to participate in a GLAAD presentation in celebration of LGBTQ History Month with actor and speaker Scott Turner Schofield on Friday, Oct. 25 at 1:30 p.m. Schofield is well known for becoming the first openly transgender actor in daytime television on shows such as The Bold and the Beautiful. He's also been a consultant on HBO's Euphoria and is well known for his TED Talk, "Ending Gender."

Sherbeck Field Improvements Project Public Hearing | Oct. 22
A public hearing for the Sherbeck Field Improvements Project Final Environmental Impact Report (EIR) is scheduled for the Board of Trustees meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 22, at 5:30 p.m. at the Anaheim Campus. The 634-page EIR examined the impact of the proposed project, which encompasses the installation of permanent bleachers, six field lighting stanchions, a new sound system, press box and storage building at the existing Sherbeck Field. Cigarette Clean Up
Students can volunteer with Health Services to help clean up the campus by collecting cigarette litter on Wednesday, Oct. 23 from 3 to 4 p.m. All litter collected will be displayed at the Substance Abuse Fair on Thursday, Nov. 21 in the quad. Anyone interested in volunteering can email
fullcollpeerhealth@gmail.com. Volunteers can meet in front of the Health Center located at Building 1200 to begin the clean-up.

Health Services will host the 3rd annual Wellness Symposium on Tuesday, Oct. 22 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. in Building 200, Rooms 224-226. The event offers three one-hour workshops covering topics on Growth Mindset, Building Personal Resilience, and Making Time for Self-Care.

Men's Soccer
Men's soccer tied 1-1 with visiting Cypress College on Friday in another conference battle. Up Next: The Hornets will travel to Golden West College this Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 3 p.m.
Women's Soccer
In a big Orange Empire Conference game on Friday, the Hornets took on Cypress College in a battle for the top spot in the Orange Empire Conference. They ended up tying 1-1. It was FC's second tie of the week as they ended Tuesday's game in a 2-2 with top-ranked Santiago Canyon College. Up Next: FC will host Golden West College for another conference game on Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 3 p.m.
Football
The Hornet football squad hit the field at Cerritos College on Saturday and lost another nail-bitter 45-42 in the Central Conference opener. Up Next: FC will continue conference-play Saturday, Oct. 26 when they welcome Palomar College to Yorba Linda High at 1 p.m.
Women's Volleyball
The FC team made it eight straight wins in a row on Friday beating Santa Ana College 3-0 at home. Up Next: The Hornets will play at home this Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 6 p.m. when they host Irvine Valley College.
Women's Water Polo
Hornet women's water polo standout Bryanna Santis turned in outstanding performances during September and was rewarded for her effort by being named the California Community College Sports Information Association Athlete of the Month. The team was ranked No. 2 as of Sept. 30, but beat three teams over the weekend at the Cuesta College Invitational.
Men's Water Polo
The Hornets played up at the Santa Monica College Mini-Tournament on Friday beating both of their opponents. In game one, Fullerton defeated San Diego Miramar College 14-5. In game two, FC beat Southwestern College 17-8. Up Next: The Hornets travel to Orange Coast College on Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 3 p.m.
Men's Cross Country
The FC men ran the traditional course at the
Mt. SAC Cross Country Invitational on Friday. The team scored 125 points and finished in fourth place. Ian Rusk placed 8th overall with a 21:43 effort. Mauro Rosales had an equally impressive improvement from last year with a 1:09 second drop. Third man, Sean Wing completed the course in 23:58. Will Gerard was four spots behind and ran 24:15. Up Next: The OEC Championships Nov. 1 at Irvine Park with an 11 a.m. start time.
Women's Cross Country
The Hornets competed at the Mt. SAC Cross Country Invitational on Friday. Diana Vazquez came in 29th place out of 61 with a time of 22:26. Diana Muneton came in behind her teammate with a 22:55 effort. Jordan Montgomery crossed the line only seven places back at 23:35. Up Next: The OEC Championships No. 1 at Irvine Park at 10 a.m.

Presence explores the meanings of the word, including "a person or thing that exists or is present in a place but is not seen", "a group of people, stationed in a particular place", as well as "a noteworthy quality of poise and effectiveness." Co-curated by collector Dee Kerrison and gallery director Carol Henke, Presence shares the work of artists addressing these concepts, including Patrick Martinez, Gabriella Sanchez, Calida Garcia Rawles, and Diedrick Brackens and more.
Symphonic Winds
Oct. 24, 7:30 p.m., Campus Theatre
The Symphonic Winds ensemble is the major performing group for wind, brass and percussion music majors at Fullerton College. This ensemble performs standard band literature as well as commissioning new works from both students and established composers. Entrance in the ensemble is by audition. Non-majors are also welcome to join this ensemble.
