PMA Theatre Guild Spring Production: The Addams Family
Presentation of Mary Academy  ePathways

April 2018
Even though we had a week off in April, the month was still busy with events.  PMA kicked off our 60 Anniversary in style at our annual Legacy Gala.  The  Juniors had their class retreat. Mrs. MacGregor was named PMA's Teacher of the Year, and the campus was abuzz with the extraordinary performances of the Theatre Guild, during the spring musical: The Addams Family.
PMA Today
 Junior Retreat
The Junior Class had their annual retreat on Wednesday, April 4, at Rivier University in Nashua, NH.  Taking advantage of the college setting, the retreat focused on how to maintain and grow in faith while attending college, as well as after college. Speakers were students from Rivier who are part of the Campus Ministry  Program and other young adults who are members of Pure in Heart America.  Both offered a lot of insight on this topic to our Junior class.

PMA Legacy Gala

On Friday, April 6, 250 attendees, plus dozens of student and parent volunteers, attended PMA annual Legacy Gala held at Lenzi's in Dracut, MA.  PMA celebrated their 60th Anniversary in style.  Diamond jeweled decorations adorned the tables  and guests enjoyed an ample array of foods, such a carving station and even a chicken pot pie station.  There was no shortage of fun! Guests were entertained by the sounds of Business Time as they ate, played games, and bid on silent auction items.
Saint Andrews Dinner

PMA is proud to have sent four freshmen boys to the St. Andrew's dinner on Tuesday, April 10, at St. John's Seminary in Brighton for an evening of dining, prayer, and discussion with priests and seminarians.  Students learned  more about their vocation, along with other young men from other schools and parishes in the Archdiocese of Boston.  The students who attended  were Jason Ortega, Tommy Regan, Mark Lopez, and Kerwin Lebron.
Tin Robot: In the name of Science
Mrs. McGuinness' Honors Physics class successfully built and tested a tin-can robot. This was a hands on project to demonstrate the electricity and circuit elements chapter of Physics.  They were able to build and test the robot in one class period.
Teacher & Student of the Year

On Tuesday, April 10, Science teacher Mrs. MacGregor and Junior, Aidan Lena were honored by the Rotary Club of Methuen  at their Annual Celebration of Achievement Banquet held at Harris' Pelham Inn.

Mrs. MacGregor was named PMA's Teacher of the Year and Aidan was named PMA's Student of the Year.

Congratulations to you both.
Habitat for Humanity
PMA Juniors Alex Thurmond and Maggie Powers gave up their time and energy for a good portion of the day on Saturday, March 24, to serve Habitat for Humanity.  The students worked alongside other volunteers from the Merrimack Region as they set about insulating, cocking, and blue-boarding a house in Lawrence for a family in need.
