The Cave of Brahma, Our "Field of Dreams"
Eric Ehrke, LCSW,LMFT

Within the pineal gland, pituitary gland, and hypothalamus linkage lies our sense of time and the focal point of our reality, which is central to our existence. Ancient Sanskrit writings refer to this area of the brain as the Cave of Brahma. Any significant damage to this area of the brain will affect our perceptual relationship to the world. What is this Cave of Brahma and how does is allow us to change or adjust our perceptions of reality?

Reduce Symptoms of Depression, Grief,  Low Motivation with Homeopathy
 David Johnson, CCH

You are the expert when it comes to your distress.  Homeopathic care begins there-with you describing your pain and anxiety-and ends with a specifically matched remedy.  One remedy doesn't fit all but with an experienced practitioner there is hope.

The Feeling Function as Foundation of the Healthy Person
Boris Matthews, Ph.D., LCSW

Feeling is a messy word in English with four different concepts for the same word. Yet, your feeling function (the Self) is the inner authority that "knows" what is good for you as a whole person separate from the conscious personality. The adaptive, survival compromises we make as we age need to be evaluated after age 40 to develop a conscious relationship with the feeling function. Our reflections should be careful to assess what we value and why we value it.  By doing so we move into a life that is balanced between adaptation and embrace of the expression of our innate potential.

Mid-Year Reminder

Can you believe it? Summer is in full force and we are in the second half of 2019.  An annual physical exam may not seem important to you, especially if you're healthy. But nearly one-third of Americans are living with a chronic disease of which they are unaware. Preventive care to offset a chronic disease should be woven into all aspects of life, including where and how we live, learn, work, exercise, as well as our health care. Getting a yearly checkup is important in maintaining good health, and should be an integral part of anyone's health care routine.  It's better to be safe than sorry.

If you haven't scheduled your annual physical exam, we strongly encourage you to do so as soon as possible.  Especially for Dr. Kocourek's patients, don't wait for our reminder letter. There is limited availability and her open spots for physical exams between now and year-end are filling up fast.  Call our office at 262.695.5311. If you can't remember when you last had a physical, just ask our scheduling staff, they will be able to provide you with that information.
