More Than 400 Attend
First Districtwide STEM Showcase
With more than 400 students, parents, staff, and community members in attendance, EMS ISD's first districtwide STEM Showcase was a success at the Hollenstein Career and Technology Center on the evening of March 22.
The event was a come-and-go format showcasing a variety of the fun and engaging STEM projects and hands-on activities that we see everyday in our schools such as star labs, humanoid robots, rockets, drones, friction experiments, theatre costume design, force and motion experiments, and Discovery MakerSpace carts. A total of 57 student groups representing grades PreK-12 from nearly all EMS ISD schools were featured.

The district's next two campuses to be built, a new elementary and a new high school, now have official names and school colors. The EMS ISD Board of Education approved the recommended names of Copper Creek Elementary School and Eagle Mountain High School during the regular monthly meeting on March 26.
Copper Creek Elementary School, estimated to open in fall 2020, will be located in the housing addition by the same name off Blue Mound Road, directly across from the US Treasury. The school colors will be cardinal red and gold, and the mascot will be the Copper Creek Cowboys. This will be the district's 16th elementary campus.
Eagle Mountain High School, estimated to open in fall 2024, will be located south of Bonds Ranch Road between the Chapel Hill and Bonds Ranch/Crestview residential developments. The school colors will be black and gold, and the first graduating class will have the opportunity to choose the school mascot from a selection of Board-approved options. This will be the district's fourth high school.

2018-19 Student Online Registration
It's almost time to register for the 2018-2019 school year!
We have been working diligently to simplify and streamline our online registration process for our families.
EMS ISD is pleased to announce that we have been able to adjust our system to allow for earlier registration for ALL students - current, new, and former students who are returning to EMS ISD. So mark your calendars:
Online registration for ALL students opens April 30!
All current, new, and former students who are returning must register for the 2018-19 school year online. Current and former students will be asked to update required forms and information while new students will complete the full registration packet. Please do not attempt to register or complete new enrollment now or before April 30; the current processes open online right now are for the current school year only. Watch the EMS ISD website for 2018-2019 registration updates coming soon!
Kindergarten Round-Up is scheduled for April 30-May 4. To enroll for kindergarten, your child must be 5 years old by September 1. Each school schedules specific dates/times during this week for Kindergarten Round Up; find your home campus details here:
