India, U.S. Launch Natural Gas Task Force

India and the U.S. have launched a natural gas task force, a product of the U.S.-India Strategic Energy Partnership bilateral meeting in India between U.S. Energy Secretary Rick Perry and Indian Government officials.



PM Modi Advocates High-Tech Civil Service

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked Indian civil servants to exploit the best technology in their workplaces in order to implement Government policies and serve Indian citizens as quickly and efficiently as possible.


 
India, U.S. Hold Sideline Session at IMF to Talk Economic Partnership
 
Indian Economic Affairs Secretary Subhash Chandra Garg met with U.S. Under Secretary of Treasury David Malpass on the sidelines of the IMF Spring Meeting in Washington D.C., to discuss the need to restart the two countries' dialogue under the Economic and Financial Partnership.


 
Indian Corporate Minister to Visit Washington, New York

P.P. Chaudhaury, India's Minister for Corporate Affairs and Law & Justice, will visit Washington D.C., and New York as part of a 10-day multi-nation trip, part of which includes renewing connections with the Indian diaspora.


 
Transforming a Desert into India's New Tech Hub

The India city of Gurgaon, just south of Delhi, is being transformed into one of the country's biggest tech hubs, home to some of the world's leading brands. The city's expansion is a public-private partnership, with the private sector buying land and raising buildings and the Government supplying infrastructure.

IMF: Indian 'Elephant Ready to Run' After PM Modi Reforms

Citing the sustained and successful reforms to the Indian economy by Prime Minister Modi, an IMF official said international investors are telling him that the Indian "elephant is ready to run," meaning they expect a surge in the already-expanding Indian economy.


 
India Tops Emerging Markets for FPI Inflows in 2018

India leads all emerging global markets in the amount of foreign portfolio investor (FPI) inflow in 2018, showing $1.8 billion so far this year, demonstrating the attractiveness of the nation's economy. By comparison, foreign investors have been pulling out of the world's other emerging economies.


Amazon to Focus on Fresh Produce in India

The head of Amazon's India operation says sales of groceries and household goods will account for 50 percent of the global e-commerce giant's revenue in the country over the next five years. In addition to offering its own Pantry grocery service, Amazon has partnered with local vendors in India.



India Beats the World in Services Export Sector

India has become the world's leading exporter of services, surpassing China, and the sector continues to expand. In the first half of 2017, India's services export sector grew by 16.2 percent. India sees sector growth in software, aviation and tourism.



Diu Smart City is India's 1st to Run on 100% Renewable Energy by Day

Diu Smart City, a costal municipality in western India, has become India's first city that runs on 100 percent renewable energy during daylight hours. The city has achieved this via solar power, with a large solar park and rooftop solar panels.
