How was your Thanksgiving weekend? The weather was certainly conducive for fresh tree shopping and finishing the outdoor decorating!

Reminder! Kane County Launches Round Two of Business Grant Program

The Kane County Board has allocated $5 million for the CRF Round Two. Local businesses in need of financial assistance due to the COVID-19 pandemic are welcome to apply. Eligible businesses may apply for up to $25,000 to cover certain expenses from March 1, 2020 to December 30, 2020.

Kane County has streamlined the process for Round Two in order to assist as many businesses as possible. Businesses that applied under Round One are welcome to apply under Round Two, provided that they have eligible expenses that were not already reimbursed by the county or another source of financial assistance.

More information, including a link to the web-based application portal, is posted on the County’s Coronavirus Relief Fund page. A dedicated telephone number and email address for this important program is available:

For businesses that would benefit from one-on-one assistance or might lack adequate technology to complete their online application, Kane County is making computer and scanning technology available free of charge at their downtown Batavia office by appointment only:

Welcome to this week's Member Insider! We are excited for you to learn more about your fellow Batavia Chamber members. Our Board of Director member to meet this week is Phil Bukowski, who works for Two Roads Lending. Phil has been there for five years, originating mortgage loans for purchases and refinances. Two Roads Lending has been a member of the Batavia Chamber of Commerce for three years. Phil began serving on the Chamber’s board in 2018. A Woodturning Fundraiser for Local Food Pantries
 
The Chicago Woodturners and the Windy City Woodturners invite everyone to join them on December 5, 2020 at the Boardwalk Shops of Batavia, located at the intersection of Wilson St. and IL Rt. 25 in beautiful downtown Batavia. Members of both woodturning clubs will be exercising social distancing and safe practices while selling bowls and other wood turned items in this outdoor pop-up market to raise funds for the Northern Illinois Food Bank, the Batavia Interfaith Food Pantry and Fox Valley Food for Health organizations. Read the press release.
The Batavia Counselors' Collaboration continues to work to bring information and help to the community. They recently launched a website, you can explore it here.

Nominations Accepted Until December 9!

The Batavia Environmental Commission is awarding local businesses each year that are taking steps to become more sustainable. If you are a business owner or know one that has been making green changes to their business, encourage them to submit an application. Last year's winner was Millcreek Early Education Center. The award will be presented in May 2021 at the annual Inspire event. Click here for the application.
