Anne Madarasz is the Curatorial Division Director, Chief Historian, and Director of the Western PA Sports Museum at the Heinz History Center.  Offered in partnership with the Cranberry Township Historical Society, Ms. Madarasz will talk about the unique story of the people and this place and how innovators from here have impacted the world. Registration for this event is required.

The Steel Bar: Pittsburgh Lawyers and the Making of America
Tuesday, December 3 @ 6PM
Ron Schuler will present on his new book  The Steel Bar: Pittsburgh Lawyers and the Making of America , the definitive history of the legal profession in Pittsburgh. Mr. Schuler will examine Pittsburgh’s part in the development of American democratic and commercial institutions, and how its lawyers helped to shape American history in significant ways. His presentation will focus specifically on George Westinghouse. Copies of the book will be available for purchase. Registration is required.

Come celebrate 50 years of Sesame street at this special Saturday program. Geared toward toddlers and preschoolers, however all ages are welcome. Registration is preferred, but not required.

Homeschool Crafternoon

For children ages 6-11. Stop by and make a craft in the Children's Department on the 2nd Thursday of each month. Leave when you've finished the craft, or stay and hang out with other homeschoolers! This is a drop in program, no registration required.

Craft-A-Connection Book Club
Thursdays, November 14 & December 12
6:00-7:00PM
Once a month we'll discuss a book, learn some stuff, and create a craft that goes along with the story. Copies of the book are available at the Circulation Desk to read BEFORE the book club meets. Open to children in 1st-3rd grade. Registration is required.

Tail Waggin' Tutors
Thursdays, November 7 & December 5

For elementary school children. Practice reading with one of our dog tutors on the first Thursday of each month starting in October. Join us at the Meet & Greet on September 5th. Online registration is required for a 20-minute reading session with a literature lovin' pup!

1st - 6th Grade LEGO Club

Join Ms. Janae in the Children's Department on the 3rd Tuesday of each month to work on the challenge of the month. Or, just free build with other LEGO enthusiasts. This is a drop in program, no registration is required. 1st-6th grades.

Drop-in STEAM Lab
Thursdays, November 21 & December 19
6:00-7:00PM
Stop in for our STEAM LAB. Create, learn, and explore during this drop-in program with a focus on STEAM. November's STEAM Lab is "Gobbtacular Science," while December has us taking on "Snowman STEAM!" Takes place on the 3rd Thursday of each month. All ages welcome. No registration required.

Decoration Drop In
Tuesdays & Wednesdays in December

Drop in on Tuesdays or Wednesdays in December to create a holiday decoration. Each week will feature a new decoration. No registration required. All ages are welcome.

Teen Advisory Board (TAB)

Be an important part of the community by helping to plan and run events for kids and teens! TAB members also provide suggestions for new teen book and AV purchases for the library. Group typically meets every other Monday. Teens receive volunteer hours for all TAB events. No registration. For grades 7-12.

Tween/Teen String Art

String a piece of art! Create an art piece using string and nails on a wood background. We'll have asimple templates or you can try your own. Registration required. Space limited. For tweens and teens in grades 4-12.

Tweens & teens! Test your gaming skills during our Open Game Nights. This is a drop in program that runs the 1st Thursday of the month. Try your hand at various Wii games in the Teen Zone. Grades 4-12.

Come explore the practice and magic of light photography. Learn the basics and take home a creation. Presented by Tom Higgs. For teens in grades 6-12, registration is required and space is limited.

Teen Writers Club

Do you like to write short stories, poetry, or prose? Come share your work and get feedback from other teen writers. There will be optional writing prompts and activities. Snacks provided. For teens in grades 6-12.
