Two more months until summer! If you are looking for a week long camp to fill up your child's summer calendar, we have some great options for you. Are you looking for more summer opportunities for your child? Learning happens year round and although it is important to have a summer "break," we want your child to feel prepared for the new school year ahead. Many of these programs still have spots available, so it's not too late to register! 
Local Camps 
Upcycle (for 3-14 year old children)
  • Program that uses reusable materials to create artwork
  • Weeklong sessions offered June 4-August 30 (half-day and full-day options)
Ideaventions (for 1st-9th graders)
  • Stem-focused camp offering various themes: martian colony, building bridges to roller coasters, Star Wars to Mario, chemistry of magical spells, and more
  • Weeklong sessions offered June-August
Alexandria Archaeology Summer Camp  (for 12-15 year old children)
  • A real archaeological site that allows children to excavate, record, and process artifacts
  • Offered July 16-20, 2018, 9:00am-3:30pm
Lift Me Up (must be 14 years old or older)
  • Volunteer opportunity at a therapeutic horseback riding program that may involve leading a horse or helping a rider who has a disability 
  • Volunteers feel that they "get more than they give" and truly make a difference

Quantico Orienteering Club  (for all ages)

  • A "thinking sport" for people of all ages that involves map reading and a great workout!
  • Events are offered at parks throughout Virginia and Maryland 
Camp Shakespeare  (for ages 7-18)
  • An acting camp for Shakespeare fans that provides campers an opportunity to be Shakespeare characters through stage combat, voice, and movement
  • 1 week long sessions, 10:00am-5:00pm 

  • Challenging summer and online classes in math, language arts, and sciences  
  • Offered at St. Stephens and St. Agnes (2 sessions June-August) 
The Art League School  (for ages 5-15)
  • Various programs offered: cartooning, ceramics, jewelry, fiber, clay with animation, and more!
  • Offered weekly, June 18-August 17
Supportive Summer Programs
Camp Aristotle  (for kindergarten to 9th graders)

 

  • Fun and exciting programs for children who need social support: Minecraft & lego explorers, mad scientists and wacky engineers, super heroes, music lab, and more
  • Offered at Fairfax and Silver Spring locations, weekly sessions (July-August)

Leaps and Bounds (for ages 4-9)

  • Programs that focus on gross motor skills, fine motor skills, motor planning, body awareness, visual motor skills, sensory processing and modulation, and social skills
  • Offered June 25-August 3 (9:00 am-12:00 pm/3:00 pm, depending on age of child)

  • Traditional day camp that also provides speech and occupational therapy support, as well as yoga, music therapy, dance, and more!
  • Weekly sessions offered August 6-10 and August 13-17
The Studypro Summer Program  ( for 4th to 12th graders)
  • Programs that focus on study skills, writing, and growth strategies 
  • Offered June 25-August 31, Monday- Friday, 2 hour long sessions
